I've read a few postings about a "pay cut" that's suppose to take effect soon... I never got such an e-mail. Can someone explain what it said, where it was posted please? (ot cut and paste it here) I checked all my e-mail this weekend, went over everything with a fine toothed comb and got no such e-mail.

How can they just cut pay?

There was a shift differential cut in pay for 2nd & 3rd shifts. - nm

It wasn't an across the board pay cut, it is a shift differential cut, second and third shifts. No one is going to have a "pay cut". per se. I heard that not everyone got this e-mailing also. Things that make you go hmm...

How is cut in shift differential NOT a pay cut? - New math, maybe. Or Medquist math? nm

It is a pay increase for some people, depending on what shift you work. The evening shift differential used to be 0.5 cpl, now 0.75. I guess it just depends on what shift you work. If you work day shift, no difference. So, I guess it just depends on when you work on what you want to call it.

Are your numbers correct. Differential used to be 5 cpl - more than day shift? Give me nights!! nm

That is .005 per cpl for evenings or a half a cent. Is that better?

Then above poster is wrong. Would rather have 1/2 cent than - 1/4 cent. No increase for anyone, cut for nights.

But they also cut 2 hours off the window of time - to qualify for evenings.

I believe the window used to be from 6pm to midnight for evening, then midnight to 5am for night depending on your time zone, now its 8pm to 5am. (I think, I'm only pulling from memory, which has been flawed by old age)

So if you do 200 cpl and worked until midnight in the past you would get $6. (1200x0.005). With the new rate you also make $6 (800x0.0075).

Let say you worked 8 hours from 8pm to 4am (max use of differential). Previously you would be making an extra $12. (800x0.005 = $4)+(800x0.01 = $8). Currently, you would be making $12. (1600x0.0075).

Now if you worked only the graveyard shift from midnight to 5am, you would be getting a $2.50 a night paycut. Obviously, the more you type the more of a paycut you get.

Hopefully my math is correct. I'm sure someone will let me know otherwise. From the looks of it, either your are making the same or less; no raise no matter what shift you work.

Not that I really WANT to hear from the Q, but am I the only one who does not have e-mail still? I can log into MQ Central fine, click the "my community" button, and the regular e-mail page does come up but with only four boxes at the top (no e-mail list). One of those boxes says something about currently experiencing problems with MT mail, we are contact with the vendor trying to resolve issues. That's it. Rest of the page is white. Doubt he will even read it but if he does, it was nice knowing all of you. I did not use any bad language, but I did speak my mind. Okay, it is 8 p.m. Friday night. Just checked e-mails. Noting my CCM sent one out at 4 p.m. Little concerned as to its content. She stated mandatory conference calls in the next 2 weeks with an "agenda," but will be brief. With what I am reading on this board, I am worried what this might be about. I cannot access my web e-mail. I believe there was an upgrade happening this week (thought today). Now they want user name and password. Just received e-mail from corporate stating that as they had previously stated they would be rearranging management, ccm's, etc. It went on to state that if you had been reassigned to a new CCM they would be contacting you in the future, but Thank GOD at the bottom it lists who your CCM will be and I am lucky enough to have the same CCM who I love and has always been good to me.
