my line count, glug, glug down the crapper. Have gone over the tutorials about a dozen times, but there are sooo many changes, the main one being in the appearance of the screen. Also, some key commands stay the same, some now do something totally different, plus there are new ones.

I am sure not looking forward to tomorrow.

I am really sick of all the changes. I like the program that way it is. Why shrink my screen when I cannot see as it is? Why change commands? Why do any of this upgrade (screw MTs) garbage and leave ASR the way it is???

I felt the same way you did. I learn best by doing and no matter how many times I watched the tutorial or read over the stuff they wanted us to save to the hard drive I just could not wrap my brain around it.

The first couple reports were rough, and I am not afraid to admit some swear words came out of my mouth as I hit Alt-L which cleared the ADT screen instead of Ctrl-L for the CC list, but after few reports it got easier. Almost all of the keyboard commands are still the same like Alt-S for search or Ctrl-U for upload. I also printed out the keyboard shortcuts and keep those handy.

You can also use the pushpins and minimize the CP for familiar accounts, thus giving yourself a huge typing screen and then mazimize it when you actually need the CP.

We get an extra cpl for the first week for all lines typed/edited and 0.5 cpl for the second week, just to help us ease into the transition. Plus there is OT offered the whole time so it is really a chance to make extra money and learn the new system. After the first day my line counts picked right back up and I am sure yours will too.

The speech engine supposedly is mmodal and not the Phillips reject medquist still owned but until the reports are run through the speech engine most of your reports will be straight typing. Whether mmodal's version is better I cannot tell you, but maybe it will learn. I am not fixing at a van or car pulmon alley any longer.

You will discover some glitches like it doesn't capitalize the first letter of a sentence but they told us those kinds of things will be addressed on the next update coming out in June.

Change is not easy. But a lot of the features are still the same so it is really like an upgrade rather than learning an entire new system. I am dating myself but I remember learning MT Shell and Medrite and then learning DocQscribe and this has been by far the easiest. Good luck!

Its pretty cool they are paying a little more to learn That to me seems like a step in the right direction around here. Maybe they are really trying to improve like those emails said from the new CEO (not sure that is her title).

I have grave concerns regarding our profession. Many of you do as well. My company just told me they were trying to bring on some projects where there would be multiple people speaking, like in a conference/meeting, about healthcare. They said they wanted me to transcribe it and to include time stamps every 5 minutes. How do you keep track of who is speaking? Sometimes trying to keep up with 1 mubbling doctor is hard enough, but now 5+ people? Is there some program or something I can get that will automatically put in timestamps, or am I going to have to keep lookin ...
