Email received said basically,,,time sheet must be approved, make sure you have the required amount of time or PTO will be added to make up missing and you will need to re-approve it..I dont want to take PTO, I didnt run out of work, THEY DID..I put in my remedy ticket release without pay..How do they get away with that?

No, they cannot make you. You have to tell them - that you want no pay for that time

My CCM did this all the time to me. NO, you do not have to use PTO. They have to put the time in as unpaid on the time card. You will not accumulate PTO if your hours aren't in though.

I was just told that I needed a min of whatever to get PTO for that time...and I have that..only talking couple of hours,,,just really the principal of the thing..they run out of work and I have to use my time? Not gonna happen

No, you only accumulate PTO if you have your hours met - that is all I know

I will not let them use my PTO when there is no work. I need my PTO for when I am sick, or when I need a mental health day, or a vacation from work (not going anywhere due to cost, but just a vacation from work).

I think it gets added as "excused absence, no pay" when there is no work due to NJA.

I also get my 15 minutes of paid "work availability" for NJA so I have proof for the unemployment office with the ticket numbers.

Whomever your CCM is, he/she needs to be told that it is illegal to just "add in" PTO without consent!

I love that, they ran out of work, not me! I totally agree. I don't think we should have to use our PTO because THEY ran out of work. It's bull.....

there is a policy to begin with. Some of these ccms try to bully the MT so the ccm stats look better. But it is illegal. Just like falsifying timesheets are illegal. You might email and just mention it is illegal for PTO to be added to your timesheet. Maybe ccm really does not know that. Here is an opportunity to educate her. Or ask person above her if this is allowed. That person will certainly straighten her out.

The policy is supposed to be the CCM gets back to you after that first 15 min of sitting with no work. Not once did the old CCM or the new TSM get back to me within that 15 min to open up work.

This policy puts pressure on the CCM to find some work for the MT but the CCM doesn't do their part, so that's why the policy falls through the cracks. The most recommended NJA solution from our CCM was to come back later in your shift. What a joke. The work still wasn't there and then you've wasted an entire day and have to take it without pay or use up PTO which is not fair.

This company should pay hourly. Hands down.

You have to fight for work, fight QA, fight if your paycheck isn't correct, fight the auditor, fight the ... blah blah blah.

Screenshots? I shouldn't have to. They should be doing right by me as they hired me. They need to develop a better system, and then stick with it. There are MTs doing whatever whenever and others getting the short end of the stick. It's madness. It shouldn't be this difficult and I shouldn't have to put up a fight for every little thing.

stand up for yourself. And you dont have to prove to those that would take advantage of others (and there are plenty out there)that they cannot take advantage of everybody. And you dont have to do the work to know you are not being cheated and your line counts are correct. You dont have to do any of that. And if you dont do any of that, you can't be surprised when you get taken advantage of. In today's world, the only one with your best interest at heart is YOU and you cant expect anyone else to watch out for your best interest.

I shouldnt have to check that DH has emptied the dishwasher and taken out the trash, his only 2 everyday chores, but I do. Go figure.

Is hit Ctrl + Print Screen and then paste into paint. There are other ways, but that is the easiest one for me to remember.

If you put in release without pay, they cannot - take your PTO for that.

Your CCM is ridiculous and has no clue how to do her job.

It really pisses me off when they do this, because there are people who dont know better and they take advantage of them. The CCMs want you to have no PTO because then you cannot take days off.

They ship our work overseas, there is no work left, and then blame us that we cant get our lines in. Not to mention that they hired on more help before they shipped this other batch offshore. This is beyond crazy!

It doesnt cost MM anything to have us sit here. It's not like - we are paid for our time SM

paid on just what we produce. They dont care we have no work cause it doesnt cost them a thing. Now if they were paying us for our TIME, we would all be typing away.

Anybody enjoying the mandatory overtime.  Yea funny how we are on mandatory overtime and then get an email that states that if you run out of work, you are required to email them and flex your time and can only make it up after 5 p.m.  So again, you are required to check for your work throughout the day and if there is no work, sorry for your luck and if you want to be "lucky" enough to be employed w/ Nuance, you will then have to sign in and work on your off shift to make up your hour ...

Mandatory Weekends....why?

Why do MTSOs require weekend coverage for every one of their accounts? I have 2 and have work up the yin yang during the week but come Saturday, I'm watching paint dry. My MTSO requires 1 weekend day, at least 4 hours. I changed my weekend shift TWICE to work during the "busy" dictation times and I'm still NJA. Now that it's getting nicer outside, I've got plans and wanna have a life again. The higher ups get off every weekend, why can't we, or at least rotate? I do ...

In my state, they are required by law to pay.  I called the labor board to verify.  By law, they have to pay if you are a non-exempt employee.  I can't file a complaint until the training is completed, but I can do it online the same day as I complete the training.  They (labor board) also advised that I keep emails and attach them to the complaint.  Unfortunately, it could take up to a year to get the money - my state is sloooow in resolving issues. I am curious to know if all this overtime every week is mandatory or not.  MY AM asks for overtime on a daily basis and wants commitments for the week. I have been doing it, but am to the point where I just dont want to anymore, I have things in my life that I need to do or want to do instead of spending MY free time always working, working, working. I was told by someone who attended a recent ICD-10 academy (for trainers) that the OIG is requiring all (current) coders to be certified by the October, 2013, ICD-10 implementation date.  I am aware of the OIG's compliance guidelines, but nowhere in that document do I find anything about mandatory certification. Also, I am not sure if they meant certified in ICD-9 or 10, but it is my understanding that the last ICD-9 CCS/CCS-P exam will be given in March, 2013, and at this point nobod ...

I was thinking... mandatory CMT credentialing might not be a bad thing.  I'd have no problem passing that exam, but would the Indian MTs?  If CMT were a requirement for ANY MT transcribing/editing US-based medical dictation, I think we'd lose our Indian partners pretty quickly. If AHDI could ("would" is probably more appropriate) make this happen, I'd gleefully pay CMT dues and attend all the seminars, etc. ...

I interpret mandatory fields as being those in the upper area that says mandatory plus any fields listed in the CP as mandatory. I interpret the lower fields listed as optional ADT (Alt I) as optional unless stated in the CP as mandatory. There are some accounts having problems with physician names not printing out right and have to be re-researched and entered. These are shown as having a question mark before their name. But, 99% of these have been in the Alt I fields, i.e., optional fields ...
