Why is SoftScript advertising again? - cc

Last week SoftScript was advertizing for transcriptionists. I filled out the application on their website which I am sure many others did. They are back on a the same board advertizing again in less than a week. Do they really need help?

they run an ad every Friday afternoon without fail. look back and see.

after they sit on their thumbs with no work. I used to work there, Thursday through Monday 2nd shift, thinking I would make $$$, but as someone else pointed out, I had work on Friday and Saturday and that was about it. I heard every excuse under the sun, from "it's the holiday slump," which the holidays apparently last from the first part of October until April at SS, to "it is too cold for patients to go to the hospital." And of course, they always dangled the carrot of new accounts coming on, "just be patient." In the end, nice people but cruddy accounts, cruddy platform, and nonexistent work. No thanks.

filled out the online application last Friday, got an email for a test on Monday... took it Monday afternoon and got an email yesterday for an interview. I read what people write about them but at this point, I'm desperate. If I get hired I'm going to work both jobs as long as I can to catch up, if I can that is. I don't have enough work now and would have been homeless if it wasn't for a friend helping me. Used to make 40K+ with Spheris and that has been cut in half. I'm just beside myself at this point.

I'm so sorry. That's an awful predicament to be in. sm - just a thought

If you are not relying solely on SS to pay your bills, you'll probably be okay with the 2 jobs. Over the last few years, my pay has gone from 11-1/2 cpl to 8 cpl, so I certainly sympathize with you.

While searching for another transcription job, I came across a company I had never heard of before, "The Right Thing" based in "Findley, Ohio." I thought this could be great, instead of staying with MedQuist offering the "Wrong Thing." I decided to look into it, and it was actually a Medquist advertisement! Don't say you weren't warned. They are nitpicking micromanagers who QA you to death on EVERYTHING, every comma, period. And they do it with an edge of attitude. I took their test and passed. I emailed them several times. They contacted me once and said they were filling full time positions first (I want part time to begin because I want to see before I commit to 40 hours a week if I can make money). I have worked for a teaching hospital for 30 years. Oh well. If they contact me now, I'll say "NO, THANK YOU!!" ...
