that MQ sent out that stupid letter stating not to worry, we will still need MTs, and that off-shoring will remain one of many solutions (including VR). I really have no idea whether we will still be here after the first of the year or not (although that's what a lot of people on this board thought LAST year and it didn't happen....but WHY would they waste their precious money sending that letter to everyone if they planned on nixing us all soon? Doesn't make sense. I don't buy that it's just because they don't want us all to quit at once, either.

I'm not defending them, as I know something is up, but I'm more inclined to think they don't plan on getting rid of us, rather, just reducing our pay yet again. Still sucks either way.

I think that they will get rid of a lot of us who are not producing or whose quality is not up to par, then everyone left will become an MME and we will have to work nights and weekends, just like the new Regional Team Lead, and we will be Clean Up Crew for the Indians.

Then, if there is an Indian Holiday, we will all be forced to work overtime and cover their shifts also.

I have always believed that there would be a skeleton crew here, which will be the MMEs or my new abbreviation CUC.

It is scary to think about this, I cannot be without a job and I have no clue what I will do when this all goes down.

UGH... why not just keep a full US staff and full Indian staff and just keep taking over more and more accounts??? Why be so underhanded?

Between this job and my sister (who is just as devious and underhanded), I might just qualify for post-traumatic stress disorder.

I don't think that anything (too) bad will happen. There are rumors circulating that when everything is all said and done (for example that "best of the best" line in the letter) there will only be a handful of employees correcting the Indians and working on the Holidays they get off. That makes the most sense. Just in case I have updated my resume. I figure I will ride this coster till I fall off or just get too poor that I have to actually EAT the computer!!!!

Meaning..cover theirs. I seriously doubt a majority Indian-owned company is thinking of anything else..certainly not all the US workers being put out of a job. More like trying to find legal loopholes. The US workers are doomed unless Congress takes a stand, which obviously they aren't going to. Obama and his constituents have already paved the way by insinuating we should not worry about US jobs being offshored..It's simple...just retrain under the TRA. But wait! First of all, we have to exhaust the UI...if you can even qualify for that. Again, loopholes. There's one in every corner..and all the greedy pocket liner mongers will find them. Tsk Tsk! Its a matter of time before it affects not only MQ but the rest of the MTSO profession as well.

Yes, I think you're right. They keep paying us less and less until we voluntarily quit and they won't have to pay us unemployment. Majority Indian-owned company? Is this true, really?

I don't know, maybe when MQ takes over all the other companies, which sounds like they are trying to do, then MQ/CBay will be the only place to work as MT. Do I jump ship just to have to try and get back on along with everyone else when there is nowhere left to go? I think I will ride this out here while I look for another type of career. MT is a dying profession, at least from a livable-wage standpoint, in my opinion.

TWO job offers today. One is for my old hospital. I never thought it would happen again. I tried for 3 years to get my old hospital job back but never heard a peep. I am looking for a true IC position where I can work when I am available due to being handicapped. Out of curiosity I went to the Merrill Lynch site. I was looking around on my personal page; I had NO idea how much I had in there, and it showed me (I was surprised as I thought it was much less) But what do I know about it...never really kept up on it.....
