I only made a 92. I am so disappointed!!! - well what is meant to be is meant to be
Posted: Mar 13, 2014I guess. Good luck everyone!!
92 isn't that bad, it's a hard test - You may still be in the game

That is only missing 4 questions.
Like I said, it is a hard test, and it is highly unlikely that 60 people will get 100%.
thanks. I am in agreement with the poster below, you probably need - 98 to 100 to be accepted

it's ok I don't like numbers anyway LOL
STAY POSITIVE - you can't really say it's *only* a 92 ... - anon

Keep the faith and stay positive ... 92% is a good solid score. It's a hard test and only missing 3 is extremely respectable.
much appreciated. this board makes me so paranoid - East MT

Block out and ignore the negative ones. They WANT to beat down your self-confidence and make you doubt yourself ... don't let it happen. Truly, 92% is an outstanding score for that test, and you should be very proud of yourself. It was hard!
Stay positive and hopeful. :)
Now ... we wait. That's the hardest part!
yes it sure is the hardest part!!! Good luck to you too <3 - hopeful

Test seems to have some issues - beenherelongtime

My test had some questions that had no correct answers listed. The one that specifically sticks in my mind was very simple. It asked the range for the second trimester and none of the answers were exact and even if you take into account the "range" of start and "range" of end weeks, none of the answers had both the start and the end weeks within the range.
Congrats! - oldtimer

92 is great - MTs know how to spell the terms, but do not always know what it does.
That didn't sound like congratulations, it sounded - more like calling MTs inferior..
[ In Reply To ..]
Really did mean congrats - oldtimer

was not slighting MTs at all, I have been one myself for 33 years. It is true, we may know how to spells them, but do you know exactly what are all the organs in the lymphatic system, the endocrine system, etc., and what they do. I think it is great she got a 92. A and P tests are difficult unless you have been specifically studying for it.
"MTs knowing the terms but not what they do" - does sound like a slight.
[ In Reply To ..]
Oldtimer's post was genuine, she's not the "slighting" type - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
I've seen her posts many times and she's a genuine straight up gal. I believe she was responding to the posts today about the tests, and how they are not about just the body systems but how we have to know the "hows" and "whys" of how things work.
I agree that sometimes MTs (and Editors, etc) know the body systems pretty well, but knowing about hormonal reactions, catalysts, etc sometimes takes a formal education.
I can't speak for her but I think Oldtimer is a pretty cool gal and I'm almost totally positive she wasn't slighting MTs in her post.
Much love, Oldtimer. :)
thanks anon - oldtimer

I won't say any more, but I did not mean to slight of offend any one. I am done with this board, people get their undies in a bundle over the smallest things
I think there is a troll running around loose - anon

It's been really crazy the past 2 days - this poster is arguing and picking fights after every single post. I honestly wish people would stop engaging that person. But I had to speak up because I knew exactly what you meant in your post and I can sense you're a good person.
I think I'm going to take some time away too. Things are a little out of control right now. This happens from time to time and then they calm down again but this troll seems especially annoying this time.
I am the OP of the 92 score post and you did not offend me - at all oldtime

thanks for the support!
I think she meant.... - eyeswideopen

I think she intended to say that MTs have a different skill set. No way did I read into it that she was slighting anyone.
Scored 92 - What will happen now
[ In Reply To ..]
If you don't pass the test and are not considered for a coding position, do you keep transcribing/editing? I am a bit confused by all of this. They say M&M is going bankrupt and now all this about coding positions and 60 at that. Will they do away with the MTs altogether and just keep these 60 coders and let India do the transcription? I am not going to take the test, I doubt if I would pass it and if I wanted to be a coder, I would look elsewhere. Anyway, just more or less curious as I trust this company about as far as I can thrown them.
Nobody knows what's going to happen with the MT division - anon

But I would guess if you don't have a plan for the future you should really put some thought into it right now - and then put it into action as soon as possible.
I have a plan - I hope its a good one
[ In Reply To ..]
It's not coding. It's something else. I hope I'm not making a mistake. Tomorrow is my last day here.
Oh my gosh, good luck ... - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
Whatever your plan is, I'm sure you've chosen the right one for you. For what it's worth, I think anything away from MModal's MT division is the right move.
Good luck on your path, I really mean that.
At this point, I highly doubt it's a mistake - considering the circumstances. NM

Disappointed.. May 16, 2012I have been working for Nuance for a few months now, thinking as time passed it would get better, but it hasn't. I am so frustrated that I am thinking of getting out of transcription altogether after 20 years. Does anybody else feel, well, taken advantage of working for them, especially with the VR editing? It seems to be almost totally re-typing, not just editing a few errors. ...
I Am So Disappointed In My New Job. May 30, 2014MT since 1986. Trying to survive the demise of this profession. Have worked for the biggest and the worst, so I was thrilled to be hired in March by a small company, who very rarely hires, is owned by an individual, has only straight typing and pays a good line rate. Was told there was "tons of work" and "new accts" coming and we NEED MTs. I'm on third shift and here I sit, nothing to do, and since the start of this pay period on 5/21, I have a total of 1099 lines. W ...
So Disappointed In Keystrokes Jun 21, 2011I can't blielieve that this is happening to me, to us. Supposedly they lost a big account to overseas but didn't bother to tell us... jobs were half of what they were before, and I was very suspicious. I've been in the business long enough to know what something isn't right. Only one little email saying that the account was slow or something along those lines. As of today, nothing.. not one single email telling us anything. Not one phone cal ...
Landmark Transcription - Very Disappointed Jan 15, 2010Was hired by this company for a large hospital new account. Owner said she was excited about hiring 40 MTs. There has never been more than a few jobs per day. It is definitely overflor and there is not a lot of that. Not enough work for even part time. Very vague about any further work. Am very disappointed. Owner does not have a grip on reality. ...
Disappointed In Career Step May 29, 2010I'm very disappointed regarding this medical editing course being offered by Career Step. In my opinion it's a terrible way to take advantage of newbies who are worried about the job market and willing to pay anything to upgrade their skills, when every employer I've ever heard of trains their MTs on VR. I can't imagine an employer requesting a course in medical editing in addition to the standard MT course. I myself am a Career Step grad, have been gai ...
Disappointed, Hurt, And Confused Feb 24, 2012I have worked for the same company for many years and I worked very hard to get into a QA position. I have worked in QA for the past 3 years and have never heard anything but good things about my work. Well…all couple of weeks ago, I get an email that the company will be making some changes to the team I work on and then last week, I am notified all the QA people are being demoted. They told me that it didn't have anything to do with my job performance and they didn' ...
Update On "Disappointed In New Job" Jun 12, 2014I’m posting this on the company board because for me, it is company specific, but it could go on the main board. I cannot name the company. Here is the link for my original post if you want the history: http://forum.mtstars.com/548168.html

I Can See Now How Some MTs Have It Made. Sm Apr 10, 2010Well, I don't know if the pool our area was sent because of NJA is affecting that regions MTs, but I for one want to say thank you God for sending me some absolutely marvelous, clear and concise easy dictation!!!! Yes Virginia, there is an Easter bunny... (oh, I believe that is Santa Claus). Now I can see why some MTs on here never complain. All MT work, no ASR so far. I am in heaven. Someone Made Oct 13, 2012comment about only unions being able to organize a strike. That just leaves everybody else powerless and without resource? No.
Leave, call in sick, take all day to do one report, send jobs through without editing, walk off, stop work. Plan ahead for you next job, and that's a smart thing to do, obviously. In the meantime, walk off anyways.

Well, I Made About $25 Today Aug 26, 2013This is working for an MTSO who only hires full-time employees, but yet again NJA most of the day today. We do not have to punch a time clock, but is this really legal? This company may "route" you jobs at any time of day and they require you to be "available" from 7 AM to 5 PM, whether there is work or not. If the work is routed to you though, you best be there (available) to do the work or else you get the nasty grams from the owner. Again, IS THIS LEGAL? ...

I've Made Up My Mind. Dec 04, 2014Eight years ago, I started school for medical transcription. I had grand dreams of being able to have a well-paying career while still staying home with my kids. After all, based on my husband's pay we could not afford for me to stay at home without bringing in an income and preferred to not have to pay for daycare for our 2 (now 3) kids.
Now here I am, with my head in my hands, making exactly the same as I did when I landed my first MT job. This is the only profession I know of where you ...
Changes Made To ASR Not Saving Mar 01, 2015Aside from erasing the ASR text and typing the entire report myself, how can I know that the system is saving my changes?
I am absolutely certain that changes I made are not being saved, and thus showing up as errors on QA reports. Some of which I am absolutely 100% certain I corrected the text, but alas the corrections are not saving.
So, once again, I am completely off the grid.
Perhaps I should do a Control-J on enterprise to check the text? Should I do Control-S to save and then do contro ...
You Made Me Like This Nuance Apr 11, 2015When I am about to send a report and it has just one blank over the allowed, I will attempt a trick I call "close it in" where I will try and find two blanks close to each other, blank out everything in between (so long as it's less than one line) and turn those 2 blanks into 1 blank, thus preventing me from having to send to QC. Now, I will only do this if I feel I am coming close to my more than 10% submission. If I'm not, of course I won't do this. But I am NO ...

Question Regarding Changes Made To ADT Screen Jun 16, 2010Okay, so they accused me of changing the dictators name on the ADT screen to an incorrect name... which I might add once again, I did not do. I document every change I make and the only thing I changed was the WT... to the correct WT I might add because it had been entered incorrectly! If, in fact, I had changed the dictator's name, however, would it not have shown up on the ADT portion of the report when I went back into DocQmanage and checked&nbs ...
