Had interview today - FutureMTer

Posted: Jan 26, 2011

Having passed the test earlier this week, I had my telephone interview today and all seemed to go well.  The recruiter said he would be sending my information off and a supervisor would be in touch with me about which accounts I would "fit" with.

Anyone remember how long it took from the final interview until a supervisor contacted you for placement?

Thanks in advance for any info, my future co-workers!

Welcome aboard! Can't remember - too long - sm

I can't remember either, but I bet it won't be too long. Good luck and congratulations.

Thanks for the welcome - One of the managers called me today - FutureMQer

One of the managers (CCM or TL?) called me today to ask a couple of questions and said she'd be calling me back tomorrow with all the info (presumably the low-down on the account, etc).

Can't wait to get started!

It took about 2 weeks from time of interview to - MQMT

working for me, but I had worked for them before. I think it would have been a shorter amount of time, but I spent some time negotiating pay rate.

FYI, you don't have to accept their first offer if you have years of experience, especially in acute care. It worked for me.

Ahhh, thanks for the tip, I may do just that (SM) - FutureMQer

The account specifically mentioned to me today was reported as being 60% op/procedure notes, which I assume is a Tier 3 (?) position. I have over 20 years experience so maybe I'll see if I can bump them up a bit if I feel the starting salary is a bit low.

I can't wait to come on board. In spite of the MQ shortcomings I see on this board, it seems like there is a great sense of camaraderie among the MTs, and I think that's awesome.

Thanks again!

With your experience and Tier 3, go for it. - MQMT

I personally have not had some of the problems mentioned here such as NJA. I am not losing any money with ASR (although prefer straight typing). I am on very good accounts with plenty of work and OT offered most weekends. I love my CCM and communication is excellent from her and the QA lead.

Overall, after working for some of the other nationals and a couple of smaller MTSOs, I find MQ much better to work for in terms of plenty of work, I love the DQS platform, pay always on time, communication with manager, etc. I came back because I found out the grass is not always greener on the other side. You have to work at many other places to appreciate what MQ has to offer.

But, again, I know it depends on the service area you get put into and not all are the same. Good luck and welcome aboard.

Had My Exit Interview Today
Aug 05, 2013

Had my exit interview today and was BRUTALLY honest.  I would like to think I helped the rest of ya all still in this business, but probably not.  I explained in very frank words that twice working for Medqust/M Modal was two times too many.  On the question of how M Modal can maintain a low turnaround in employees and make working with them better, I went with STOP off-shoring all the work, STOP the NJA, STOP the threats of firing with a failed audit.  Keeping the work in the US will solve ...

Exit Interview Phone Call Today
Aug 06, 2012

I left MM a few weeks ago and today got a call. They asked lots of questions about how satisfied or unsatisfied I was with MM and I answered them all as honestly as I could. When they asked if I thought any of their practices were illegal or unethical...I told them that hiring people to work for you and then expecting them to use their PTO or go without pay when there was not enough work was extremely unethical. Especially when you have many MTs with NJA daily and others with mandatory OT someti ...

I Had An Interview Today, Its In-house, Temp, To Catch Up. Sm
Jul 24, 2013

I am still reeling from this sit-down.  I interviewed with the hiring manager of a huge medical group in this fairly large city.  I got her opinion on the future of MT.  This group wants to get caught up on everything because they are converting to EHR.  So, there is a temp position available.  Its $18 an hour.  Just like the old days.   She told me that, as a manager, in her opinion, MT is gone.  She was a true skeptic and had a wait and see attitude abo ...

I Have An Interview With MD-IT

As MTs, We Should Actually Interview The Companies!
Mar 03, 2010

If you are an MT with 10 or more years experience (actually a requirement with 1 company), and you are testing and interviewing, consider this.  When you do your research on a company that you are applying with, print all the negative posts such as "horrible platform, hardly ever any work, pay is slow, they offshored my account, VR problems, etc., etc."  If you score perfectly on your test and have good recommendations, land an actual interview, we should address these concer ...

FutureNet Interview
Jun 02, 2010

Hi group!  I have a job interview with Rita at Futurenet tomorrow.  The reason I am looking is I am really tired of constantly running out of work because my company over hired and now we transcriptionists are just out of luck!  I am in my 4th year with my current job and suddenly can barely hit $100 a day.  This is really sad when there is no loyalty to their employees.  Now from what I have been reading Futurenet is the same???  I read from this group how they run ...

Transcribing An Interview
Jul 14, 2010

I am doing some side work transcribing a research interview, and was wondering your opinions.  One of the respondents in the interview panel is ESL.  Her grammar is very often incorrect.  I asked them when I got the project if they wanted the transcription verbatim, and she said "yes, let's leave it true to form."  I had asked because the previous work had a lot of "like" and "you know" in it, and transcribing every utterance was actually really hard.  ...
