Is there anyone that actually enjoys working for MQ? I lost my job this week and so I am looking for something to start quickly, and so far the only interview I have set up is with MQ. Please give me some hope!

My opinion is if you're in desperate need of a job to be able to bring a little money in temporarily while you look for something better, then go for it.

These boards make one scared to work for any MT company these days. I do know of one person, who I worked with years ago in house, who started with MQ full time back in January...and so far she really likes it. She had the option of using their equipment and is doing MT/editing. I used to work for CBAY as an editer about 10 years ago and took a part-time job at MQ as CBAY was laying off....until I found fulltime elsewhere and I had no problems with MQ....but sure in 10 years, things have changed quite a bit at any company. I'm trying to decide where to attempt getting a part-time job again on top of my full-time MT job due to paycuts and lack of work at times....leaving one no sense of any job security. I'm also considering MQ again as a part-time job, just not sure if I want to commit to 2 set schedules or find an IC position that is more flexible as my part time job. I've been MTing for 20+ years....think you just go where things work and when it changes too much, move on.....hate it....been great at my full-time company for 10 years...worked my way up to decent pay...then pay cut out of no where...really pulled the rug right out from under me. Not sure this helps....but yes...there is at least one happy employee at MQ today.

Before I get flamed, let me say that I do understand some areas have problems and that work is low to nil, but that is not my situation (and I do not feel it is the norm as I know many who are in my situation in different areas of MQ) and I feel that both sides should be able to voice their opinions on this forum without being bashed in order for others to make decisions whether to work here or not. No matter where you decide to work, it is a crap shoot what you are going to get regardless of others experience as everyone has different needs when it comes to a good job fit.

I have worked elsewhere and came back to MQ because it was better than some other places I have worked over the years in acute care. I love their platform and pay is always on time. My service area does not have a problem with being out of work, as a matter of fact OT is approved almost every weekend. It depends on what area you are in. Not all accounts are being offshored, my accounts have it in their contract not to offshore.

I do not think that this board represnts all who work at MQ, mostly just the ones who are having a hard time. I know many who are satisfied with their jobs here compared to some other companies they have been at.

You are the minority. My client is no India too, but still - no work.

The client is slowly turning to EPIC. The work is starting to thin out. But don't worry about my group. We will just be transferred to YOUR client and have lots and lots of work to do. Then -- POOF -- your OT is BYE BYE.

It's coming to you too, just wait. MQ is not done with their shuffle yet.

But I am glad to hear that there is a service area to move all of us to that is still having work. WILL BE JOINING YA SOON!!

I had 3 accounts and all refused - to send work to India.

They had to be done in the United States. I thought I was free and clear. Unfortunately, my secondary all went to EPIC, or something similar to it. The doctors decided to do their own transcription.

So now I am down to 2 accounts, however, another account is also slowing moving over EMR, GE EPIC.

Do not forget, Medquist is also putting out their own EPIC in the next few weeks.

I am doing some side work transcribing a research interview, and was wondering your opinions. One of the respondents in the interview panel is ESL. Her grammar is very often incorrect. I asked them when I got the project if they wanted the transcription verbatim, and she said "yes, let's leave it true to form." The recruiter said he would be sending my information off and a supervisor would be in touch with me about which accounts I would "fit" with.
