TT/Imedx - line discrepancy? - anon

Posted: Feb 05, 2015

Has anyone noticed a reduction in lines? I completed 2 speech documents this moring. ESL, but not terrible. I copied/pasted the body text (no headers/footers) into blank Word document and ran the Word Properties after each was completed. Together there were 13,375 keystrokes (VBC + spaces), and divided by 65 the total was 205.76923 lines. However, when I went to IChart I was only credited with completing 149.38 lines. I made sure to wait 2 hours before I went to IChart, to allow enough time for both jobs to be calculated.

What time. C&P takes no time. Run the counts takes no time. Do this a few times - and you get to where it is a SM

quick click, click, click. And isn't it time well spent to see what you are REALLY getting paid?

I just hope you aren't one of those complaining an MTSO is stealing from you when you wont even take the time to find out if that is trus.

You dont think knowing how you are paid is worth a few seconds? You - deserve to be cheated. nm

dont they all cheat us one way or another? - I AGREE

It is good information to have, but at the end of the day what can we really do? Remember when MQ got sued for that, lost, and none of the MTs got a dime, it all went to that purported MT advocate place? Just feel like its hopeless, we either have to take it or get out. JMO.

Do yourself a favor and get out - There is a life beyond MT

A MUCH better one.

What are you going - to do....

imedx line discrepancies - TTMT

[ In Reply To ..]
Could it be that you included spaces, for which iMedX doesn't pay, or has stopped paying since taking over?

IMEDX does not - pay for spaces - what?

[ In Reply To ..]
I've worked for TT for close to 10 years. I was hired as paid for spaces.

I didn't know that; thank you for telling me, but - anon

I ran the figures both ways, to be on the safe side. There's still a discrepancy.

I'm going to play a hunch. I'm going to have Word count the lines as soon as it populates the page and before things are edited.

But going back ... are you saying that Imdex is not honoring my signed contract with TT? IOW, my per line rates are the same but WITHOUT the spaces?

Dont do a line ct. Do a chaaracter count then divide by what - makes up a line for your MTSO. nm

This may or may not be true. Don't believe - Everything you read. (sm)

It's always best to find out for yourself. Go directly to the boss.

You can tell better on short reports by the amount of lines you get. They don't pay for headers either, which is why if you have a no dictation report, you'll either only get 0.23 lines for "No dictation" and sometimes you will get zero lines. Don't take my word for it though, but why would you get so little lines in comparison to the amount you type if they were paying for spaces. I made a lot more money before the takeover than after it, even though I was doing more OT during the later part of the year based on gross income.

I used to do that as well. Sometimes they dock you for using their required headings, etc. What platform are you on. I find it easier to create my own headings and such rather than take the time to use theirs. Anyhow, I wold make a fuss about it. That is a lot of money that should go into your pocket, not theirs.

SOFTSCRIPT LINE DISCREPANCY??
Jan 05, 2012

I have been spending the same amount of hours, doing the same accounts and my lines have been decreasing.  Is there something going on that we are not aware of?  Another question, do we get paid for spaces?  And if we did, maybe they have been taken away.  I am confused....  Anyone know what is happening?   TIA ...

Line Count Discrepancy In Platforms
Sep 22, 2010

This question is for people who are working on the ExText and/or Escription platforms. Hopefully, you'll be able to explain this to me.I worked for 6-1/2 hours yesterday in Escription. The dictation was not difficult and I typed at least 80 wpm. At the end of the day my production was only 1,130 lines, or an average of 175 lph.I worked for 1-1/2 hours this morning in ExText. As before, the dictation was not difficult and I typed at least 80 wpm. When I signed off I had transcribed 525 lines ...

Webmedx SR Line Counts Discrepancy
Oct 14, 2010

I apologize to sound like an Webmedx complainer. Not my intent, but I am extremely concerned regarding the SR jobs I'm transcribing and receiving correct compensation. The way I understand it, an SR/VR draft report already has a tallied line count when it goes to an MT and if during the course of your edit, you delete lines, the line count always reflects this by being less, it does not stay at the original SR drafted line count. Makes sense, and I have no issues with th ...

** Imedx Line Counts Are Correct
Feb 05, 2015

We know you do not get headers counted, and we knew that with TT. YOU DO get spaces counted and included in your count. Copy your document, put in Word. Go to menu Tools, Word Count. You find the number for Characters With Spaces. Take that number and divide by 65. It always matches what Fluy reports, always. So, I know we have a lot of pent up frustration with Imedx, but please don't be scaring people about their pay like this, kinda mean. Get the facts. Nothing has changed, or at leas ...

Nuance - Anyone Else Having Discrepancy In Hours Worked?
Nov 23, 2011

Over the last two pay periods, at the end of the period, the amount of hours they tell me I worked is extremely low compared to the hours that I actually worked. Last pay period, prior to "approving my time card", the total amount of hours they calculated that I worked over a two week period was 12 hours!!!! When in reality I had worked 36 hours. When I emailed my supervisor, as usual it took three days for her to answer and by then, she had already approved my time card because I hadn' ...

Nuance Hours/lines Discrepancy

If It Looks Like IMEDX, Talks Like IMEDX, It Is IMEDX

No one on this board seems to give specifics when they get canned from IMEDX. So my question is this: Can each person who got laid off/fired let us know more details. Were you PT or full time, did they call or did they email, did you have options, or just firing. How many lines did you do per day. Some of us may not be in your situation and you may have been just an employee that was not worth IMEDX's time and they got rid of you while they may keep all the others, or full timers. VR Line Count - What Kind Of Line Production Should I Shoot For
Mar 24, 2011

I was just hired on with a company to do strictly VR. I am only going to be working part time so about 4 hours a day. I am wondering from those who do VR what kind of line production should I shoot for in 4 hours of work? What is the normal VR line count for part time? I have read that most who are working full time or 8 hours a day are doing more than 1,000, even 2,000 a day. The company I will be working for wants a minimum of 10,000 lines in a payperiod which the lady said even with part time ...

Line Rate For 65 Printable Character Line

MTSOs - Why Anyone Would Do VR For 0.03 Per Line Or Straight Transcription For 0.07 Per Line
Mar 13, 2012

It's beyond me why anyone would do VR for 0.03 per line or straight transcription for 0.07 per line, even 0.08 stinks.  Are we all that desperate to let these companies get away with not paying a living wage?  It's outrageous.  As long as MTs send their resumes to these companies and apply for these positions, the longer it will take to bring us back to the pay level we deserve.   At this point, i'd rather starve then sell my soul to the devil. ...
