Good place to work - GaMT

I have worked there as an IC for over three years and it has been one of the better MTSOs that I have worked for. The account I have is straight transcription and the dictators are generally very good (no ESL). Pay is always on time. Line rate is decent. Rarely run out of work. They generally just leave you alone and let you work. Others may not have the same opinion but I like working there.

Do they have direct deposit? Also are they the company that you don't get paid until they do?

I have always had direct deposit, but I can answer about not getting paid until you do. I can't imagine waiting for a paper check to arrive and take it to the bank when it can be direct deposited the next day, but I am sure there may be reasons.

Ditto on those comments. No service is ideal these days but I am enjoying my work with TP.

I left Transportal once because I thought I had found something better, but it wasn't. I was happy that they took me back, and even had a spot for me on the account where I was previously assigned. Good people to work for...
pay rate - what does average mean. SM

I know most companies pay has gone down seriously, can you give me an idea what "average pay is"? Thanks!
TransPortal--there's a lawsuit against them - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
There's a current class-action lawsuit by former employees as they didn't earn minimum wage and weren't paid OT.

I am PT and know of others that are as well. I am not sure if they determine that by account or other metric, but I would go ahead and apply.
Is TransPortal IC or employee? - Anon

Can anyone tell me if they hire ICs only or employees? Wondering about insurance and PTO, etc. Also, do they offer a bonus of any kind? Ever any QA openings for external candidates or only from within? Thanks in advance.

I work part time for them and have for the past 3-1/2 years. I really have never had any problem with them. I am an employee. It pays 1 cent per line less than an IC but it is worth it to me as far as paying taxes, etc. No bonuses that I know of, and since I have been there they have offered at least 1 QA position to current employees/ICs.

I have been there about a year and I think they are primarily hiring ICs now. I believe there are a handful of QA positions and I also believe they are promoted from within.
Does anyone have information regarding this company, i.e., platform, flexibility in working time (no schedule?), anything you care to add, good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks. ...
I was looking into Transportal? I was wondering if you can do over the 1200 minimum lines required each day or if they don't like it when you go over your minimum? Does anyone love working for Transportal?
Thanks ...
Is anyone IC status at Transportal? Do you have a HIPPA policy in place? What is everyone's experience with IC versus employee status with Transportal?
Thanks

Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...
Was the recent account lost, their ortho account? I was thinking of applying but don't want to waste me time if they don't have their big ortho anymore. ...
I am very good in orthopedics, have done quite a bit in my many years of transcription, did well on the tests as far as I could tell, but got an email that I didn't qualify. Now I see they have another job posting for the same job. What's up? Is it hard to get a job with them. Seriously, orthopedics is my thing and I am well experienced at it. I applied again just in case. Any infro anyone can give on getting a job there? Are they just hard to get a job with? ...
With the new IC agreement due this week has anyone decided to write more than 8 cents on page 4 of the agreement on #1 under the Compensation heading? Do any ICs make more than 8 cents at TransPortal? I am thrilled with the flexibility of TransPortal. However, it would obviously be nice to have a raise. ...
They have been hiring quite a bit lately. Really considering applying there. Does anyone work for them or have any recent information on them; a lot of the archives are pretty old.
Thanks in advance! Be blessed! ...
pay 8 cents a line? This is awfully low for an IC position isn't it? I mean, when you are IC don't you have to pay your own taxes and have no benefits at all? So in essence it's a lot less than 8 cents. Are they out of the their minds or is this how long IC jobs are paying now? Around 10 years ago when I considered an IC job it paid 13-15 cents a line to offset. ???? ...
Just wondering if anybody had any current information about working as a Transportal QA specialist, how the experience was or is, good or bad, etc.
Thanks! ...
i had a job interview with Transportal's recruiter this past week and one of the things she mentioned is the fact that they will require ICs to purchase Errors and Omissions insurance. She said that by February 2010 the government would be requiring all IC medical transcriptionists to have this coverage. Have they told their current employees/ICs about this and, if so, does anyone have any idea what it costs? It sounds like a good company and the job offer is definit ...
Does anyone have info on this company; i.e. communication, mentors, line pay, etc. Greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Anyone working for them presently? ...
I know places like Transcription Doctors, etc, work for the bigger companies like Superior Global and then pay the MT less. Does Transportal have their own accounts or are they hired by other companies. Anyone know?
Thanks ...
I work for Transportal and recently one of my accounts went from drowning us with work to NOTHING. I haven't had any work now for over a week. My last 2 paychecks were just over $1000 each and now this paycheck will be just over $200!! I've asked supervisors/team lead about this multiple times and they claim to know nothing about it. Just wondering if anyone working for Transportal had any info?? Thanks! ...
I got an email from Transportal for the MT test. I just got a job this week that I love so far. Anyone know what the pay is there? The job I got is much much less stress than the company jobs. There is no way I want to leave this one for that one. ...
