Anyone currently working for Transportal? - - sm

I was considering working for them. Do they run out of work often, etc.? TIA.

You are out of work more often than you have work. Accounts are way over staffed and when job/jobs get loaded into the system there are so many MTs jumping on them that the jobs are usually gone within 30 minutes and you wait again, up 1, 2 or 3 hours to get a few more jobs and the cycle repeats over and over.
I would say if you are depending on this for sole income, the work volume is not there. You can ask for more work, but it is my experience you are ignored.

I am not sure what account(s) you are working on for TransPortal, but your experience is not the same as mine. I have worked there nearly three years and have only rarely run out of work, maybe over a holiday. It is full transcription and the line rate is competitive. The healthcare coverage is optional and through payroll deduction, but I think that is pretty standard these days. Good management that leaves you alone as long as you do your job.
One of the lowest paying MT jobs I ever had, pay steadily decreasing - on many accounts, former TP

My experience was one of the worst with this company. I worked there for a while and then quit. Communication stinks with management. They do have VR, not just straight typing. I think they were offering 7 cents for some accounts on transcription.
I think they lack organization - Me

A while back, I was hired by them (That's what they told me) and they said they would send my hire paperwork to me. I never heard back, so I emailed the lady I was communicating with and got no response. I emailed for probably a week with still no response. Over a month later, when I found a different job, the lady emailed me and asked me if I was planning to work for them. She said it in a way like it was ME that was dragging and not doing what I should do or something. I emailed her back and told her that I never received another word from them and my emails were unanswered. She then did apologize and said she had to go out of town and she could send the paperwork to me. I told her I found another job then and she actually seemed rude to me about it, like I was wrong for doing that.
So, I didn't work for them, but disorganization in the hiring process like that would have been enough to make me second guess the job anyway.

Like one of the other responses, I have never used VR at Transportal. I enjoy it here and the money is good. I don't have any ESL providers on my two accounts. I see the group emails when production is not meeting turnaround times but I meet my commitment and they seem happy with the job I am doing. Maybe not a good fit for everyone but those I know who work here plan to stay.
you never using it doesn't mean they don't have it - nm
this company made me want out of transcription for good - anon

I've never felt like I had carpal tunnel until this company. The line counts are screwy. I'm pounding the keyboard so hard and entering templates galore and still coming out to minimum wage if I'm lucky. And no one will tell me why. I'm really disappointed in them and wonder what they're thinking. I guess they believe there will be an unlimited flow of MTs behind each one who leaves.
I was looking into Transportal? I was wondering if you can do over the 1200 minimum lines required each day or if they don't like it when you go over your minimum? Does anyone love working for Transportal?
Thanks ...
Is anyone IC status at Transportal? Do you have a HIPPA policy in place? What is everyone's experience with IC versus employee status with Transportal?
Thanks

Just got hired with them... and I'm on my last day of the first pay period... and let me tell you!!! If you get an offer... RUN!! It sounds good, but is far from it! Their sound files are horrible, they don't pay you any kind of training pay ( which I mistakenly MISSED on my part!! oops.. won't make that mistake again), and only give you LIMITED WORK while on QA review which amounts to like 200-300 lines a day!, and.... they have no account specifics whatsoever f ...
Was the recent account lost, their ortho account? I was thinking of applying but don't want to waste me time if they don't have their big ortho anymore. ...
I am very good in orthopedics, have done quite a bit in my many years of transcription, did well on the tests as far as I could tell, but got an email that I didn't qualify. Now I see they have another job posting for the same job. What's up? Is it hard to get a job with them. Seriously, orthopedics is my thing and I am well experienced at it. I applied again just in case. Any infro anyone can give on getting a job there? Are they just hard to get a job with? ...
With the new IC agreement due this week has anyone decided to write more than 8 cents on page 4 of the agreement on #1 under the Compensation heading? Do any ICs make more than 8 cents at TransPortal? I am thrilled with the flexibility of TransPortal. However, it would obviously be nice to have a raise. ...
They have been hiring quite a bit lately. Really considering applying there. Does anyone work for them or have any recent information on them; a lot of the archives are pretty old.
Thanks in advance! Be blessed! ...
pay 8 cents a line? This is awfully low for an IC position isn't it? I mean, when you are IC don't you have to pay your own taxes and have no benefits at all? So in essence it's a lot less than 8 cents. Are they out of the their minds or is this how long IC jobs are paying now? Around 10 years ago when I considered an IC job it paid 13-15 cents a line to offset. ???? ...
Just wondering if anybody had any current information about working as a Transportal QA specialist, how the experience was or is, good or bad, etc.
Thanks! ...
Does anyone have information regarding this company, i.e., platform, flexibility in working time (no schedule?), anything you care to add, good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks. ...
i had a job interview with Transportal's recruiter this past week and one of the things she mentioned is the fact that they will require ICs to purchase Errors and Omissions insurance. She said that by February 2010 the government would be requiring all IC medical transcriptionists to have this coverage. Have they told their current employees/ICs about this and, if so, does anyone have any idea what it costs? It sounds like a good company and the job offer is definit ...
Does anyone have info on this company; i.e. communication, mentors, line pay, etc. Greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Anyone working for them presently? ...
I know places like Transcription Doctors, etc, work for the bigger companies like Superior Global and then pay the MT less. Does Transportal have their own accounts or are they hired by other companies. Anyone know?
Thanks ...
I work for Transportal and recently one of my accounts went from drowning us with work to NOTHING. I haven't had any work now for over a week. My last 2 paychecks were just over $1000 each and now this paycheck will be just over $200!! I've asked supervisors/team lead about this multiple times and they claim to know nothing about it. Just wondering if anyone working for Transportal had any info?? Thanks! ...
I got an email from Transportal for the MT test. I just got a job this week that I love so far. Anyone know what the pay is there? The job I got is much much less stress than the company jobs. There is no way I want to leave this one for that one. ...
