Did you previously have Humana health insurance, before working for M*Modal? - (Please see message)

Sorry to be repetitive. I posted this on the Main Board but haven't gotten any responses there, so I'm re-posting it here where more M*Modal folks might notice it(?).

I got a letter a couple days ago from Humana about a rebate for a portion of the health insurance premiums which I had at my last job--the rebate apparently required by the Affordable Care Act. The letter has a lot of additional mumbo-jumbo, not all of which I understand.

It says to "contact your employer" for info on how the rebate will be distributed. Unfortunately, my employer that I had Humana coverage through was one of the smaller companies that got acquired by M*Modal a few months ago, and I declined the job with M*Modal. Since that former employer is no longer around, and I'm not an M*Modal employee, I have no idea how to find out anything about this. I'm not sure, but I don't think M*Modal has the same health insurance plan, anyway, so I kind of doubt that they're the ones who got the rebate from Humana.

I suppose it's too much to hope that any rebate will be disbursed to those of us who used to have Humana coverage, eh?! Is there anyone else here who is in the same situation as I'm in, and, if so, do you have any thoughts about this? Thanks for any input you might have!

Surely they'll have other employees of acquired companies that might have the same question. I'll give them a try. Thank you.

Why not just call Humana and explain you no longer are - employed there and the company has been sold.

...have to do that. I guess that didn't cross my mind since the letter says to contact your employer, so I was just thinking along those lines. When our "employer" has been sold to another company, it sure complicates all the issues like this that come up!

With this new healthcare reform, does this mean that outsourcing companies are going to have to provide health insurance to MTs? Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I have heard this insurance plan (BC/BS?) does not cover primary care office visits until you reach a 2500 dollar deductible, no copay anymore, paying for the whole visit?? I thought all insurance companies had us pay a copay, not the whole cost of the office visit.
