Hey all,

Has anyone worked for ATSI out of Clearwater, Florida? Just wonder how they found the company to work with. I'd love to hear some feed back.

Not even bothering to take the test. I made more than that in 1984 with OTJ training, no experience, using a Selectric typewriter! I would deal with VR but not at that rate. Geez Louise, VR needs to have all the kinks worked out of it before MTSO's rates are cut that much. Send it to India. You get what you pay for and you pay for what you get!

Although 3 cpl is considered low for QAing, the slowness of the software, the high percentage of ESL and having to actually do feedback to the MTs does not make this job feasible at all (at that time they were hiring newbies, but the ESL rate was too much for a newbie. .reports with 20-40 blanks). They do not pay for headers/footers either and their patient information screens were very labor intensive. It's ashame you can't test the actual software before accepting a position. Would save a lot of time and effort.

I worked there for 1 year,in that year ALL of the old (veteran) employees bailed..NEVER was able to get benefits,after 1 year was told no raises this year. Not even a token for transcritionist week, not even a mention. With 20 yrs exp. I never seemed to be able to get much line count, wondered if they're not counting spaces. When VR came and they tried to convince us that 3cpl would make us MORE money than we were already NOT making, I said let them sell that one to someone else. I'm out! From my view, not good money, not good support. I don't regret leaving.

I got out of there as soon as another MTSO came along that paid more, offered employee status, benefits, great people, the list goes on and on. I did not make even minimum wage for at least the first 4-5 months I was with them. I filed a complaint with the DOL in Florida. Did not get a cent in back wages. I sent HR a long email on my last day explaining why I left (cuz they asked) and I never heard from them. I left there in March. What month is it now? I would not work for them again. I worked a 2nd temp job b/c I couldn't make ends meet. They changed QA constantly. No consistency. Supervisors changed every 3 months. The "good" ones left before me. The only positive with ATSI is I got my foot in the door, so to speak, and I got 1 supervisor as a reference who was the BEST! Otherwise, do not work for them...unless you want to work 10-hour days everyday and don't mind missing holidays. They constantly beg for you to jump on and work b/c nobody shows up on weekends. I had all this crap with just straight typing. I didn't even know they are VR now. No way would I do VR for them!

Just my 2 cents, er 3 cents (per line) LOL

Good news and bad news. I just got off the phone with Mr. Young. He specializes in cases like mine, but only from an unemployment point-of-view, not class-action suits. This is an except of an email that I received from the CEO of the company today. This was after I sent an email last week and things were "misconstrued" on their part. After reading this, I am of the opinion that while yes, they offer straight transcription at a "decent rate" by today's standards, it also explains to me why I was tearing my hair out on the dictators I had. What is up here? My account manager sent out an update via e-mail at 8:30 a.m. then a little while later there is an e-mail forwarded from the president of the company that she is no longer with ATSI and another person is now the manager over ALL the accounts. After switching to speech recognition about a month ago their biggest account has been out of TAT almost daily and is in jeopardy of being lost to another service. I'm glad I gave my notice. ...

I have offers from both TTS and ATSI. One is IC for 90 days then option for employee, the other is employee from first day. Pay and work and hours are all the same. ATSI is a bad company to work for. When hiring on they tell you 0.08 cpl then after about 2 weeks they switch you to a company called Oracle that you sign a contract with stating 0.075 cpl. When I got my second paycheck I noticed money was missing. When questioned about it they said that they pay per report 1.50 at the most. NO ONE EVER mentioned this to me at all. This is just a warning message to hopefully prevent other MTs from going through my experience. ATSI still owes me three paychecks, which were repeatedly promised to be paid day after day, week after week, then we were informed they legally had to pay by August the 8th. Most of us have still not been paid. I just learned that David Shepherd and his wife, Terry, also control M T World. I am now employed elsewhere, but it will take months to undo the damage this company did ...

I would really like to know who comes up with these stupid programs that are supposed to benefit the transcriptionist. This MT World program (you work in word) is just stupid in my opinion. You have a box that comes up, then you have to check the schedule and select the date of visit, then you have to push a button to okay all this stuff, then you get into your report and you still yet have to hit another key to update the page so that it brings the demongraphics onto the page, then ...

A recruiter recently emailed me and stated in her email "After the minimumlines per day is satisfied for 3 consecutive periods as well as the 90 days you will be offered employee status and benefits". What does that mean? What does a consecutive period consist of - pay periods? Annual quarters?
