Alpha/AKA Imedix - Grandy

Anyone else wondering why Alpha, which is now apparently owned by Indians, working on USA government contracts (Numerous VA Hospitals across the country)?
Yes, wondering about that and . . . - anon

if that's why Alpha took ImedX brand off their website. That's a huge no-no.
definitely not to be done - oaf

Worked for subcontractors for VA Hospitals for years. From what I remember the contracts are supposed to go to small companies (obviously since Alpha got bought out that no longer applies). The work is to be done in the US! I think they may be getting around this by having a US member of their staff signing off the reports done in Pakistan. With that having been said - it is just WRONG and someone should investigate the situation. Since one has to have a government clearance I don't know how they are sending it overseas!!! Taking more of our jobs..............
Might be the perfect time to report this with all the problems the VA is having right now. - PAMT

Would think you could send a message to the head of the VA or to someone in your state government that would know where it should go.

I have been writing to politicians, posting on Facebook, requesting shares, etc. I am livid that a foreign company is working on government (VA), especially medically and personally specific information sharing. There are plenty of companies in this country that would love this work. They may be using American workers, but foreigners are still benefiting, with so many Americans still out of work, including many transcriptionists who have been put out of work/income by companies like Alpha who sell out to foreigners.
I printed and used the information provided on this site under the Job Seeker's Board, about why transcription should not be offshored. We all need to get into this battle. VA Hospitals are supported by taxpayers, and this money should not be benefiting foreigners.
Grandy, I can remember way back I was very upset about something and I - PAMT

actually sent an email to President Obama because you can get his email address on the net but I never heard back. Again, with all the problems with the VA right now it is worth a shot. I do know I complained to my state reps and I actually did hear back from them especially when elections are coming up. Best time to get your point across.

Yep, I am sending emails daily to reps, senators, congress, etc. I am beyond livid. I want to know why my tax dollars are being used to enhance the lives of Indians.

Would think they could take the time to investigate this if they have time to audit the small-time US companies

I copied the information from this site under Job Seeker's Board about why transcription should not be offshored, and have been sending it to senators, congressmen, the white house, representatives, and posting on Facebook with requests for shares. Taxpayers need to know that government entities, supported by taxpayer dollars, are sending work to foreigners. Even if they are using American workers, it would appear that those American workers are not suffering from significantly decreased work flow, therefore less income, while American Alpha employees appear to be willing to provide a front for these foreigners, while screwing over American workers.
I can totally understand why people are upset. I was hired as QA. The account that I was on was a major hospital system blanks that I could easily understand. However, there were times when I just had to leave a blank. We were instructed to "ding" the MT as much as possible and the rules we followed were as per Nuance guidelines. Even as a QA, we had audits from upper management. I was terminated because my quality score fell below 98%. I felt fo ...

Looking at their ad on MT Daily. Any information would be helpful. Are there any benefits for FT or is it IC's only? The ad says IC. If they have FT/employee, do they offer insurance? I see it is mostly editing. Do they frown upon using the mouse to move around in the text? Do they count off for errors? Just routine information would be helpful. ...
An acquaintance of mine got this message from Alpha (now owned by ImedX). There has been a lack of work since ImedX took over countless VA hospitals that used to be handled by Alpha. In short, U.S. Government is now paying a foreign company, using taxpayer money, while causing unemployment for Americans, and the so called Americans working for Alpha/ImedX are assisting them.
As you know, the workload for the accounts in which you are providing services has been low over the past several month ...
