Looking at their ad on MT Daily. Any information would be helpful. Are there any benefits for FT or is it IC's only? The ad says IC. If they have FT/employee, do they offer insurance? I see it is mostly editing. Do they frown upon using the mouse to move around in the text? Do they count off for errors? Just routine information would be helpful.

Alpha is a VA contractor and shouldn't be hiring ICs at all--all MTs should be employees with prevailing wage and benefits according to the Service Contract Act. Do your research and/or ask the department of labor in Ohio. Good luck.

It is my understanding that Alpha is now owned by or affiliated with iMedX which I believe is all IC. Maybe do some research on iMedX. I think they are a decent company to work for though.

What you state is true, they are now IMedX, but that has nothing to do with the problem. The VA contract they have states (and all VA contracts do) that no one can work as an IC on their accounts. They must pay prevailing wage that is stated, and do not. Hence the problem at large.

How can they be a decent company if they are violating government contracts and cheating their MTs out of prevailing wage and benefits? DOL told me about iMedX, I hadn't even noticed Alpha sold out to them. Also iMedX is an India company--do some research, and not just on their web page. They have Youtube videos about their company parties in INDIA!

Anyone else out there working for prn out of ohio? If so, how is your work load and what do you think of the recent changes? I've been with them for a very long time and have worked 24/7/365 for them.
