what is up with Alpha transcription? - Justwondering

I was just wondering if anybody knows what is up with Alpha. Did they lose accounts? No communications. Shuffling people here and there.

Typed 8 hours and earned only $35 (by my calculation). Horrible platform - they were just launching a new account. Communication was horrible there - just a bunch of e-mail complaining about things missing in the ID fields. Good luck!!

If you only gave the job a chance for a day, of course you are not going to make much money. You have to get used to the specs. And filling in those fields is a part of the job, so I can understand why you got emails complaining that you weren't doing your job!! The communication I had was great and I had questions answered whenever I asked. The staff may not have always been available, but they were helpful when they were. Sorry for your bad experience, but I love it at Alpha!

Well, I worked for Alpha and I was NOT IMPRESSED with their lack of communication, training/instruction(you never really are told who's in charge) the managers are MIA weekends and evenings, so you're left to hang out and dry, no IT support WHATOSEVER, and not to mention the pay. They are nice people though, I will say that. They are MONTH BEHIND on their payroll, and do not bother to tell you that it takes 5 weeks to get your first paycheck, which is the pay period from 09/15 thru 09/30, you don't get until 10/20, and the first one (which they don't tell you either) is mailed out, (I'm still waiting) they are into me for about $700 right now, and when I inquired was told that their clients are VA (my account is not) and they only pay them once a month, so apparently they do not have a cash flow to support paying their MTs on time. The payroll person is MIA and never answers e-mails.

Not sure I will be staying. What can you really say, another one that offshores!

Hold on a minute. They pay on time. If you worked from October 1-15 you will be paid on - Nov 5 for that. You cannot say they DO NOT pay on

The platform is terrible? WHAT? Dictaphone Editor??? Wow. I cannot believe what people post on here. Just because of anonymity on this board, does not mean you can speak untruths. That is just unfair.

First of all, if you read the contract that you had to sign, it clearly stated and gave a specific example of how the pay periods work, which stated that your first pay period would be 20 days after the current, not previous, pay period.

About the IT support, the IT guy walked out on them shortly after starting a new account. We did have and will have IT support again as soon as we find a qualified person to do so.

As far as paying on time, I have never been paid late and know many who never have that have worked here for years!

I'm not saying that Alpha is perfect, and no company should ever claim to be. But before you go spreading vicious lies about a company, read your contract and get your facts straight!

So as far as Alpha goes, there is good and bad on here. I just sent my resume over and have been an MT for 14 years and do love Dictaphone but after being laid off from NCSS (Northern Counties) and living on unemployment and going broke putting myself through school for coding because the work potential there is supposed to be soooo great, a steady paycheck and decent pay is important....Any thoughts on this company????

Heads up everyone Stay Clear of the wackos up at Alpha Transcription! They not only pay on the VBC but don't even know what it is or how to calculate it, have HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT, are the most disorganized company any MT could possibly work for!
