How are all you alphies out there loving the new cuts? Don't ya just love not getting paid for spaces, then templates, and now headers and footers? What's next? Commas and periods? What a rip-off! I'm quitting soon. Anybody else?

Rip-off is right! I've heard a lot of Alpha MTs have already started signing with new companies. Alpha did it to themselves, plain and simple.

on with a new company. I started part-time to learn the ropes so will eventually quit Alpha. Love how now they are begging for help, serves them right. I wonder if they will reconsider....

to encourage extra work when they got behind. Not much incentive to even do your work much less extra. The VR quality has taken a huge nose dive lately making it even harder to comply with minimal daily line counts now. Sweat shop.

One very necessary skill of any MT is the ability to research. At the risk of sounding rude, I assume you are not an MT and not familiar with word processing software. In a word processed document a header is an area at the top of the document reserved for information such as a date, document title, identifying information, author's name, as well as can be located at the bottom (footer) of the document. In electronic medical reports these headers/footers often contain the patient's name, date of service, name of the facility/location, title of the report, the MT who transcribed the report/date and time of transcription, the dictator, the primary physician's name, and can include coding for routing. You can learn more about how to use headers/footers by doing an internet search using the search phrase "headers and footers." :)

Do you really think that all the MTs understood that their line counts are reduced by the headers/footers approximately 200 lines per every 1200 lines and that you have to do (donate!) 200 more lines daily to reach the daily minimum requirement? I think there are going to be some very surprised MTs when the April 5th pay checks hit the bank. The email from February 2nd said the new â��procedureâ�� will start February 2nd, but it didnâ��t start until March 1st regarding the headers/footers. Be careful to check your line counts on April 5th.

Right. I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here 12 hours a day to try to bust out 1200 lines. They've made it damn near impossible. Anyway, I enrolled in a 1-year LPN Program so it's a matter of time before I quit for good.

anon2, I enrolled in a 1-year LPN program too! I cannot wait to start school and lay transcription to rest. Alpha has pissed me off so bad with these cuts that I don't even want to work for them anymore. I wonder how many people have quit. They sure do seem to be begging for help a lot lately these days.

It's hard for me to understand why they would take away headers when we have to head up every document, sometimes enter all of that patient information. We don't get paid for that. Or when a doctor says over and over "oh never mind erase that, start over." We don't get paid for that which we typed either. It's really unfair.

Has anyone else noticed towards the end of the day ichart seems to slow down significantly and you can't get a real time line count? I know it says you may have to give it an hour to update, but sometimes it doesn't update for hours on end. Beings you can't go by Enterprise Express Editor line count anymore because of the reduction for headers and footers, you just seem to be guessing where you are. Annoying!

I went from a company who paid for headers and footers to one that didn't and was (sadly) surprised at what a difference it makes - more than I expected.

I was sadly surprised, shocked actually, at home many lines the headers and footers winded up being at the end of the day. It is not fair to exclude them completely when we have keystrokes that contribute to them. Once again, more free work donated.

paychecks today - needing answers

Just curious how many of you Alpha MTs noticed a lot of missing lines due to the header and footer deductions on today's paycheck? I have played with the numbers over and over and I still can't figure out what constitutes as a header and footer. I have contacted the office when this was first brought to our attention and have yet to hear anything back. Has anybody else received clarification on this? I noticed in one particular account especially that they take a lot of lines away minus the template.

I bet I know why they won't answer you. The line counts are wrong, wrong, wrong. They are taking more away than the headers and footers. I have spent a lot of my time off checking line counts in the last few months, and there is no possible way they are crediting us with the correct lines. And what a joke of a pay check today, right? I'm going broke working for Alpha Transcription dot com.

Heads up everyone Stay Clear of the wackos up at Alpha Transcription! They not only pay on the VBC but don't even know what it is or how to calculate it, have HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT, are the most disorganized company any MT could possibly work for!
