what is going on at Alpha? - Grandy

Does anyone know what is going on at Alpha? Apparently the let employees complete the last 2-week pay period without telling anyone that they had changed the way they were calculating the line counts.

If my memory is correct, if iMedX bought Alpha, that explains the changes in how they pay. It's not for the benefit of the MT, believe me.

Yes they did - it was quite the pleasant surprise as I always like making less money than expected (insert eye roll and sarcasm)! I always picked up more here and there but that came to a screeching HALT when 07/31 I had over 16,000 lines, woke up on 08/01 with under 14,000 for the pay period. I really like the company but DO NOT mess with this mama's paychecks!!

my lines went up 1200 so I was a happy camper. Our pay never changed when they took over (someone mentioned their's was lowered to 0.07, ours was below that already), but with VR on the horizon I expect that to change. Will see presuming new work does materialize that is, down to next to nothing right now as most of the work has been sent off to India now.

Not only did the line count drop, also it's like pulling teeth to get a job. Keep refreshing and waiting. So unhappy!!!!

that gives me 1000 lines a pay period and its days are numbered too. Luckily I have other things lined up so not counting on this job but still the next few weeks will be rough as my new job does not start for a few weeks yet. Will take advantage of the time off I think and try to get some projects done, have the supplies bought already, just no time to do them. Have plenty of time at present. Make some lemonade out of the lemons being dealt at least!

Are you working on a VA account for Alpha/iMedX that the work has gone way down? I do VA work and I always had plenty of work but I have been sitting on the refresh button for days now. Seems hopeless. Completely sneaky and unprofessional that they changed the line count method without notice.

Tired of staring at a blank screen and refresh feature does nothing today. If they're driving to run us off it will soon work or starve to death. Pure act of greed to change line count with no notice and bring in new MTs who I'm sure are working for less. Shame on you Alpha/iMedX. You can break my bank but you can't break my spirit.

Explanation we got says, not making their way through the speech engine, as we've heard many times before whatever that really means I don't know except for there was plenty of work and now none with no warning. Crappy thing to do.

Perhaps not making their way back in time to the USA from INDIA. Apparently they don't need us anymore because they think we make too much. Heads up to the VA who could care less anyway beings they are already in so much trouble already. So much for a VA contract and

The speech engine not working is NOT the truth. I'm sure they hired a new batch of MTs at lower line rates at the changed line counting method to replace us. Now they are not giving us that have higher lines rates no work in hopes of getting rid of us the easy way with no explanation so we wont' get on here with information they provided. They wanted us to get mad and leave at the line count reduction so they brought on new MTs at the same time they pulled the line count change (end of July). The work is there. We're just not getting it in our que, the new MTs are. Didn't you notice that the variety of dictators you had before started dwindling down day by day and you only had a handful. That was your work they were giving away to the new MTs they got at the cheaper rate.

This is the most horrible industry in the USA and yet if you asked the average citizen how important the accuracy of their medical record is they would say very important, of course. But--in the end no one really cares and here we sit at home and no one hears or sees us so out of sight out of mind.

An acquaintance of mine got this message from Alpha (now owned by ImedX). There has been a lack of work since ImedX took over countless VA hospitals that used to be handled by Alpha.
