Alpha Transcription MTs quitting ??? - anon

What's up at Alpha Transcription dot com in Eden Prairie, MN? The one that has the VA contracts? I heard a lot of them have quit recently. Anyone know what's going on?

I heard through the grapevine they stopped paying for templates, headers, and footers to increase the margin of profit to make the business more attractive before they put it up for sale, which apparently it is for sale now.

Alpha Transcription might be in trouble--they are VA contractor but not paying MT's prevailing wage and benefits, but paying as IC which violates VA contracts. Note K&R now having to hire employees (no more IC) and hiring on a regional basis Also EtransPlus got caught not paying prevailing wage and benefits on VA contract.

From what I have heard is many MTs have found out that company is about to be sold and that the new owner can use their own MTs and QA staff if they want to. The info is public at the web site where the company is for sale at Kruse Acquisitions. You do need to request the info to see all of the details.

Has anyone had any experience with this company? I sent my resume for a job posting and was contacted right away. The fishy thing (to me anyway) was that they didn't even want me to TEST for the position! What is that about? EVERY MT position I have EVER been a candidate for has wanted me to test. Heads up everyone Stay Clear of the wackos up at Alpha Transcription! They not only pay on the VBC but don't even know what it is or how to calculate it, have HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT, are the most disorganized company any MT could possibly work for!
