You weren't eligible because of severance pay? How much severance pay did you receive? I had to wait a week for my state's usual 1 week waiting period and then I also had to wait some time because I had PTO time mixed into the calculation but I did get unemployment and was eligible for it according to my state's guidelines for 6 months. Something seems off here in your state! Keep pursuing it and don't give up on it.
