Bureau of Labor Statistics forecast for the industry - MTs for Change

Posted: Dec 6th, 2017 - 3:05 am In Reply to: Petition Update: Moving Forward - MTs for Change

Found this reference from the BLS, which projects a 3% decline in MTs through 2026 due to an increased demand for transcription due to higher use of medical services, offset by technology and outsourcing. That's a lot lower rate of extinction than everybody losing their jobs in the next couple of years, leaving a lot of MTs for the next 10 and beyond years stuck in stagnant low wages, poor benefits and condtions. I'd say that's worth working on by those who are going to stay it out. If that isn't you, you don't need to condemn or discourage others for working to better what is left.
