Here's how it works (in other industries):

Employers know that, for better or worse, they will either enjoy the benefits, or suffer the consequences, of their treatment of employees.

Both ways.

One way doesn't work.

I hate working in a female-dominated field. We don't seem to have a clue how the world works.
