The only suggestion I would make is that maybe the pay and benefits issue should be kept separate from the issue of sending records offshore to simplify the wording. They are both important but probably should be dealt with on an individual basis. Unfortunately, I've seen confidentiality breaches in my workplace and by people who do MT at home, it's a domestic issue too. Most people are professional but some are not, it happens everywhere. For example, people taking pictures with their phones at work when they have someone's chart open on their computer and then posting it on Facebook (yes, it happened), people using work laptops at Wi-Fi hot spots without a VPN, and the MT who let it slip at a company gathering that she had transcribed Mrs. XYZs chart within earshot of one of the administrators (she got fired). At home, unless a person has a dedicated office and can lock the door, the possibility for a HIPAA violation is there. We all need to be mindful, foreign and domestic.
