I hope that the petition is not being signed by all 8000 U.S. members listed on the newsletter, or 20,000 members on the site, because they are not actively or regularly using the site or newsletter. I'd rather that, than they didn't think it applied to them due to oversight of the petition, or because they work for more ethical companies, or that it won't make a difference anyway. I often sign petitions to improve the working conditions of other industries whether it is Walmart, McDonalds, slave laborers in Africa, or physicians and med. students being abused within their facilities with high rates of suicide, etc. I like the saying, 'If you don't stand up for others when their rights are being trampled, who will stand up for you when it's your rights they trample?'
Some of those parties mentioned are making incremental improvements, so why not us?!
