Increasing the pressure - MTs for Change

Posted: Sep 5th, 2016 - 6:20 pm In Reply to: MTSO petition - bette

We start here, and the more we get to sign up, the smaller that plenty of MT's gets. This petition is not just for MTs to sign. It is putting the spotlight into the communities for others to find out about, and sign up in support, particularly in the corporate office locations, that says, we know about this and we are calling you foul. We are putting pressure not only on the MTSOs, but also saying to AHIMA and the AHA, AMA to stop shipping your transcription work to these sweat shops, or put pressure on the MTSOs to pay better for better production and quality, as they are contributing to the problem. We can also ask legislators in the states to put pressure on the MTSOs. We can work on organizing a collective bargaining unit of our own, that if enough people say no, and stop keyboarding, aka strike, may also get their attention. They can threaten to move it out, but they will have to come up with a big pool all at once, and they won't be able to. We can also start our own cooperatively owned MTSOs, where we the MTs are the owners and keep our jobs here, and compete with them with better quality, production, turnaround, etc. I understand your concern, however, doing nothing gets us nothing.
