Strange things happening there too - bad audio getting worse, dropping rates, eliminating "special" teams that paid more for experienced transcribers. One company has this system in place where it automatically rejects your work if QA edits your work 40% or more. The reasons can be as trivial as they disagreed with your comma or capitalization. Often times the QA is new and doesn't know what they're doing. Doesn't matter why - you get rejected, you don't get paid. You can contest it if you want and wait weeks for a reversal. Many get tired of the hoops to jump through and just let it go.
And that's what they're counting on. ;)
