Pay without spaces is NOT 30% difference is it? - SM

I have done the math over and over and I always get around 15% to 17% difference. Nowhere near 30%. How did anyone come up with this percentage?

I have a report in Word. Did a character count. With spaces it is 9065 characters. Without spaces it is 7556.

I did the math like this:

(7556/9065) x 100 = 83.35%. The difference is 16.65%.

Everytime I have calculated it always falls right around 15% or so!!

Very curious how anyone/someone calculated 30%.
