Same here....my parents, esp mother, was exactly as you describe yours. I have a self-esteem problem as well. My mother didn't abuse me, hit me, yell at me...nope, quite the opposite, just basically ignored me. No "I love yous" no asking about my life, nothing. I got married at 18 just to get away...Did she tell me it was a mistake? (it WAS, he was an Ahole)...Like a real mom would? Nope - she just talked about him behind his back (and mine) saying what a loser he was. P.S. I finally realized it 10 years later and got rid of him.
Sometimes I wonder how many MTs get into this field because of low self-esteem.
Anyway, I'm getting away from the subject of this board! This is a whole other topic.....Hugs to you because I know how it is to have a uncaring mother...it really stinks. You think if your own mother doesn't love/like you, who will?
