Looking at job at Nuance - Current Employee Comments on Company - Kat

Posted: Jul 29, 2014

I am currently looking to apply for a new job and wanted some info from current employees how they feel about their job and the Company - Is it worth applying? Is it mostly SR?  Is there a good pay scale?

You are kidding right? - Funny questions?

I don't need to repeat everything that has been said before about Nuance...do some reading of older posts.

I personally am only OKAY with Nuance; however, with the huge pay cut, I have filed bankruptcy and I am on food stamps and Medicaid. I can no longer support my family. We never had a lot, but we always had enough.

If I had know about Fiesa, I would have never come here.

Thank You - Kat

Okay, that right there has helped me make up my mind....NO..again, Thanks a bunch I appreciate it

If you are a big producer with acute work, it's okay.. otherwise don't bother. - NuanceMT

Worked at Webmedx on a clinic account, making 8.5 cpl straight transcription and 5.5 cpl for VR with a considerable production bonus each week. Nuance took over almost 2 years ago, and immediately chopped line rates to 4 cpl VR across the board (less if you are fresh out of school). It doesn't matter if you are a CMT or not, they pay the same for everyone now.

About 6 months ago, the clinic I was working for switched to EMR and I was forced to take on acute care with a bump in VR pay to 4.5 cpl. The increase in line rate was nice, but I am not making my weekly production bonus on a consistent basis anymore because Nuance also changed the requisites for that as well. If you can produce at least 10,000 lines a week on a mostly VR acute care account, you'll do okay. Otherwise, it's probably not worth it.

ETA: I see so many complaints about Fiesa, but truthfully I have never had a problem. If you produce quality work, you'll be fine.

My dislike - Ruth

I only disliked the last sentence - if you produce quality work, you'll be fine.....

I produce quality work - have for 30 years - had a number of companies, many supervisors and even hospital department heads tell me so - while I have worked for various companies in the past. But for Nuance, I have failed to get bonus - not because of quantity - I am a high producer in acute care - and my help is regularly requested on difficult dictators/reports - but somehow Fiesa always finds just enough to keep me from bonus. It's not quality work they want - it's people who are willing to accept minimum wage....

Sorry you're not qualifying for your quartery bonus... - sm

I am also a high producer (10,000 to 11,000 lines per week most of the time). I always check Fiesa and if there is even a question of a discrepancy with a correction, I bring it up to my TSM immediately, even on stupid little 0.25-point errors. They really can add up. If you have a good manager, she/he will go for bat for you when needed. QCs also make mistakes, and I have had my fair share of having to get errors reversed or downgraded in order to make sure to get my bonus.

I agree with you 100%, Ruth. - They want perfection for the lowest wages possible

Looking for a job at Nuance - Run!

To quote another post, this is a "cesspool" of a ccompany. Nuff said, look elsewhere; don't give them the satisfaction of working for them. Read these posts, this is a horrible company. I didn't take a position with Nuance based on what I read here and I am so happy I did that. Between M*Modal and this place, they are destroying the world of transcription and making so many MTs actually starve!

I'm acute care and I like my job at Nuance. Yes, there could be more money, but compared to other places I've worked I think my compensation is better than most. FIESA QA is a joke, I feel. I haven't run out of work. You would have to try it to form an opinion. Not every company is for everyone.
