Current 9 year Transcend MLS. I notice Nuance hiring ads - requirement 1 yr experience.

Is this common (the 1 yr exp only requirement). Transcend has always required at least 3 years. One has to wonder if the 1 year exp is an easy ploy to offer lower pay. I worry about this since from what we can summize we will be moved to be in line with Nuance payscale at some point shortly. Is anyone else make this 1 yr experience connection?

They seem to have differing tiers of pay scale commensurate with experience; that began since I started w/them over 2 years ago.

I have been an MT for over 10 years and i'm STILL only making 4 for edit and 8 for standard, after my company was taken over by them and I was making more, I took a pay cut. I work on a difficult ESL accounts and see NO increase in my pay at all. In fact, they are paying a newbie just out of school the same as what they are paying me...after 10 years, am I not considered seasoned and worth more than a new MT, after all I am doing the work that a new MT cannot do.

They have different pay for different platforms, but not experience. I was kind of surprised at that one. Been doing this for 20 years and someone with no experience gets the same amount. Some other companies do pay more for experience, but not here.

No need to "eliminate" to "justify." They're driving. - Suspect people are eliminating themselves.

I'm trying to "eliminate" myself now. Jobs are tight, but first almost decent offer and I'm gone. Honestly, I'm ashamed of myself for still being here. I should have left when our company was taken over and my friends did.

conscience now recommend this company to anyone, although I just got a company e-mail inviting me to make up a little of the money I've lost this last month alone by forwarding it to other MTs. (I don't actually know the details of the offer since I deleted it without reading through.)

Relative newbies looking for a job: Sure, take it if you're in trouble and there's really nothing else available, but plan to keep looking and move on as soon as possible. This company exploits its employees by driving incomes down in every way possible. It's become very bad.

How can they be hiring when they are sending all of the work to India, even QA work is going to India. Most QAs are being dropped down to MLS on what domestic accounts we have left.
