Wouldn't it be better to take an online - sm

ICD-10 course rather than be required to stay with them for 2 additional years after the apprenticeship, working whatever shift they feel like sticking you with? I feel like the difference in the amount of money you'd be making in those 2 years with them versus anywhere else would more than pay for an online course. I'm not seeing the draw to this.

While MModal's course will get your foot in the door with experience, there is no way to know what you will be earning for those 2 years, AND whatever it is, you will be committed to those wages for 2 whole years. This could devastate a lot of families - mine included.

I agree about the online course ... if someone is genuinely interested in coding, I would do the course OUTSIDE of MModal.

I looked up the cost for Andrews School coding program. They - are considered the best school SM

for MT/Coding and they charge 3800 for their one year program. They have a 2 year payment plan available if needed and they dont charge interest.

With the exception of the 2-year experience window. "Coder" said last night that there are coders coming out of schools like Andrews having paid tons of money and not being able to get a job anywhere because they lack 2 years of experience.

I went to Craigslist for my town last night and searched "coding" jobs. There were about 10 jobs listed, all of them offering $20-40/hr but ALL of them requiring at LEAST 2 years experience. The one and only benefit I see to MM's program is that it would give the 2 years' experience that we need to get a job.

I did NOT say coders were coming out of schools "like Andrews" unable to get jobs. I was talking about colleges and other programs in general. I never mentiined any names.

Just FYI, Andrews seems to be one of the few programs where students are able to avoid the no-experience trap because they often pass both the CPC and the CCS. Most other programs teach barely enough to pass the CPC, much less get them to the CCS stage.

Another thing to consider is that with this program all books are supplied in that cost, which is not true of some programs. I found some less expensive programs, but the costs of the texts were not included. I looked up the costs on Amazon and it does add up. Be sure to compare everything before jumping to a "cheaper" program, one that may not prepare for the CCS exam, which I have been told opens doors for new grads with no experience.

I think it's just a distraction to keep MTs from - leaving in droves during MM bankruptcy.

they would put people on their strength worktypes and specialities instead of put us on what we are the weakest at and then complain b/c they are constantly out of TAT. Just amazing to me how we were asked what our strengths and weaknesses were and after that email, I was put on my weakest out of everything. When you have a report that is with a difficult dictator and within the first few lines you have a blank you know you are going to send to QA - if the report is long and there are a few other blanks you might have to leave but might be able to get if you spent time researching, wouldn't it be better to not even waste time researching those blanks since all the lines are being counted toward your 5% submission rate - it would seem that it would be best to do the rest of the report as quickly ...

I just had to vent! I am SICK AND TIRED of companies (mostly hospitals) with these l-o-n-g applications asking you to document your whole life history. These are several pages long, and many times you are restricted to ANSWERS IN BOXES (drop-down menus) so can't enter free text. Finally, there is NO WAY TO SAVE IT!
