SENDING BLANKS THROUGH - RADMT

I'm just sayin....as a radiology MT in this company for 14 years...we have always sent radiology reports straight through to the docs to review and sign (because of turnaround time)....never knew they did QA until I got new accounts 2 years ago....and have had some pretty bad foreigners. I believe it is docs job to go over his reports anyway...he is legally responsible..

Just do the best you can do. Send a blank to the client. - Forget about sending to MME.

We just gotta do the best we can. MQ does not want us to ask for help, so don't. Just don't.

Send a blank if you have to, like you said, let the HOSPITAL worry about it, and just HOPE that MQ doesn't decide in a month or so to come back and say, well, we are sick of all of you sending blanks to the clients.

I just have a feeling this is just setting everyone up for the blanks to be held against you in your audit.

After 20 years of MQ's shenanigan's I don't trust them one iota.

Did anyone ask that in any of the meetings if the blanks will be held against you in your audit? My service area did not have a meeting, if they did, I was not invited I guess.

Just do the best you can, that is all you can do. And DO NOT send anything to MME. Just blank it, send it to the client.

someone asked about blanks today in our meeting. CCM told us to decipher on how many blanks we should have in a report by how long the report is. for example an 8 minute report should not have 5 blanks in it. And she said if we have a report that had a lot of blanks in it because dictator was mumbling, eating, or a lot of static we can email her to let her know. For me, I am just going to document every report i send with blanks and why whether i could not hear it clearly or decipher on a mg of a dose or WHATEVER. I have a brain freeze from all of this. must get off the computer now.

And we have time on production pay to add blanks, add lines up, - send emails, keep documentation,

Personally, it is easier to just send the blank if you have any to the client.

you know what at this point i think i will just send blanks. I'm tired of this whole game. its one thing after another. I will just continue on as if the QA button does not exist. I'm also hoping this plan does not go through next month.

Isn't that what MedQuist actually wants anyway? They have all but eliminated QA.

Have faith in yourself. Go through the report and finish it, then when you are done go back up and listen to the blank. You might understand it at that point. If not, leave a blank and send to the client.

Not sure what else we can do, especially if that is they way MQ wants it.

Ok, got E-mail about changing when we have to send reports to IQA and when we can just ship on. Increasing number of blanks, etc. Anyone understand how this is going to impact our 10% or less criteria? I may be crazy, but sounds like we might be getting a break here. Just curious: Any MDI MTs not feeling like jumping through the hoops, printing out the paperwork for Transcend on THEIR deadline even though we don't become official employees until Feb 1? Just wondering about the sending of blanks. I had a few blanks due to inaudible dictation. I know QA wouldn't be able to get it either, but when I uploaded the job the QA box was checked and I tried to uncheck it and it wouldn't let me. So, how do you just send it straight to the client and not to QA? ...

Are they kidding? Who is going to be sending ANYTHING to QA and take a chance of having their pay cut? Especially if it's the beginning of the work week! Yes, the clients will be getting blanks and I know they will be complaining. The Q keeps sending us e-mails telling us to cut down on QA submissions. Are they kidding? I feel that I flag a lot and send to QA a lot. I've been at this for about a year, do acute care, lots of ESL etc so I think it's a reasonably difficult account; but I ask myself do really experienced MTs, e.g. those at this for 5 years or 10 years or more, send so many jobs over to QA? I have just had it. I was switched over to a horrid account, and every time I ask about being switched back, I am told to just keep on working. Utterly confused. I took a big, BIG hit with the QA deduction in paycheck this week. So, I decided to investigate. Like everyone else, I have about 10 "regular" accounts. No blank rule is mentioned anywhere on any of the Account Specifics. I wrote the QA person for my CMC questioning how many blanks were acceptable without sending to QA, and got the "first time right" explanation. This is BOGUS...if I have one blank on a lengthy report and hafta send to QA and they take the total line ...

I got a complaint from corporate that my lph are not where they should be via my TSM. I have been at MModal 6 weeks and just got off training. I was hired in at tier 3. I am working on sending back my equipment for MQ and just got the mailing slips in the mail today. The sheet that comes along with it tells me I'm not required to send back the foot pedal, speaker, keyboard or mouse. This makes no sense to me.....anyone been here before?? Okay, I got a ding today from my extremely sweet and helpful QATL. It seems I did not send as a cc a requesting physician dictated. I looked at the report and I did enter the requesting physician in the ADT and the body of the report. I thought if they did not specifically request a cc be sent, then you did not. Am I wrong? Old dog needs help. Also, I thought if the Req Physician was in the ADT it automatically received a carbon copy.. Hmmm.. ...

Yes. The Privacy Rules allow hospitals to disclose patients' names and other directory information to anyone asking for the patient by name or to the clergy.
