TransTech- good company - Former MT

I've been with TransTech for about 2 years, but I'm going to back to working with people now that I'm not having to deal with military moves anymore. I thought I'd pass along to the job hunters that TransTech is a good place- they pay on time, have a good work load consistently, and not too much ESL. It's not for you if you don't want to commit to 40 hours or work a few holidays, but it's an honest gig that you can make a living with.

Plus it is 99.9% VR editing and the platform has NOT learned much in 5 months, so we have to make the same corrections over and over and over... commas in series, dates not properly laid out, gets taxis, testes, etc. for Texas nearly 99% of the time, however does not have proper punctuation before and after EVER, rarely makes double return for paragraphs. and ON AND ON

I've had a good experience with them, but it's not for everyone, of course.

It is not TT. They have no control over what platform the hospital gets suckered into buying. I know what platform you are talking about and it is owned by MM a.k.a JP Morgan the shark that is buying up everything in sight. It is an inferior platform, but the hospital got duped. TT is a good company. I used to work there too.

What account were you on? I got ALL foreign doctors and was there 4 years, 1 hour training, 5 different accounts and 1500 lines required a day and no work, and ALL VR. If it were so good, military or not why leave.

You mean to tell me Fluency has still NOT learned how to spell out Texas. That's BS. Back when I was there when we first had to train Fluency it ever learned it after 3 months and still not yet? I know I was getting tired of changing it to Texas every single blasted report!

Every other Christmas and every-other Thanksgiving and 3 required...but you have to check for work because maybe none all day, so you have to still have your 1500 lines for the day, and your 7500 for the week to be full time and have benefits you have to pay for. They do pay on time. Some nice people, but favs that cherry pick. They do shady things and check this board.

I had a bad experience with this company, and they did have favs that cherry picked all of the time. They do check this board and are not always truthful.

I would not recommend TransTech to anyone. NOT a good company to work for. Been with them 3 years - kept thinking it might get better. I'm testing with other companies now. Will be so glad to move on...

I LOVE this company! I am in Radiology I feel lucky to have gotten on since my other account completely dried up after the owners sent work to India when the hospital specifically TOLD them not to...ANYWAY, never run out of work (two accounts). Paycheck always on time, very helpful and very friendly. I would highly recommend. They always call me to fill-in and they pay bonus lines for that.

You're left alone to do your work in peace without constant calls and email. Pay is good and on time. My account is mostly VR but I never run out of work. I work part-time.

I just hope they don't get swallowed up by one of the stinkers. I always start to worry when the work dries up a bit. I am hoping to continue on with TT after I take my early retirement. Been with them 5 years.

And make sure to falsify your timesheet - BTDT

Always falsify...er, "adjust" your timesheet to make sure you're meeting the line requirement even when in the face of no work. You'll get a nice little email from the owner informing you that you made below minimum wage (through no fault of your own, obviously) and you need to "double check" your time sheet because clearly you took time off and "forgot" to note it.

Of course, you'll never have any PTO accumulated this way but they'll look good to the labor board.

I have nothing against being an MT, but working at home isn't necessary for me anymore, so I'm moving on. MT is certainly not an easy job, and I admire the folks who put in decades doing this.

I have seen so much both good and bad in the archives regarding TransTech but have never done VR and understand that is a big part of what they do now. KS seems to be getting lower and lower in the popularity with emplooyees test. I worked for them once but left for the reasons everyone is talking about. There was no communication.
