TransTech is a great company!! - TransTech MT Monique

Posted: Sep 23, 2010

I have noticed that a lot of people are looking for a good company to work for, and I want to recommend TransTech.  They have wonderful people working there, who treat you with respect,  and always want to do whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable.  I was hired less than 3 months ago, and from the beginning they have been wonderful to me.  Even though I am 64 years old, they did not make me feel like  I could not do the job because of  my age.  I don't mind giving my name, which is Monique.  They hire people all of the time, so give them a try.  All the best to everyone here who is looking for work!!

why do these wonderful posts always show up - when they are hiring

JUST ASKING!

Sorry if I upset anyone - TT MT Monique

[ In Reply To ..]
I can see why some do like TT and others do not, but the only thing I can say positively is that I have never run out of work yet, have never been talked to disrespectively, and I always have help when it is needed. I have encountered the scenario about not making enough money with a couple of companies in the past few years, and yes I did go broke a couple of times, and it was no fun; in fact, I was supervisor for one of those companies. This is always going to be the norm for MT companies now, and it is an awful process finding one that will at least pay you well, but I have reconciled myself that there will never, ever be one extraordinary MT company with everything you want, and how many times have I heard "this is just business, just business, and this is the way it is." This is the saddest thing about our profession, and I don't think it will go back to the "good ole days." We are lucky to find a good company and to just break even. I sympathize with everyone and their opinions.

I run out frequently. We must not be on the same accounts.
Running out of work - TT MT
[ In Reply To ..]
I work second shift, and sometimes the work slows down, but I have a backup acct. I heard though that the MTs in the daytime run out of work frequently. I am sorry that this has happened to you.
My experience there... - sm

I worked the day shift and did at times run out of work. However, when the mass emails would come out telling us of an abundance of work at other times of the day I went ahead and worked and got caught up. It's very simple to do. If you get called and are asked to work when the volume is sky high and you say no that's your problem. You had the opportunity to play catch up. Kind of like unemployment in a way; did you look for work, was work offered to you; yes, but I didn't want to work for an hour. Too bad then, you don't get paid.

If they hire people "all the time," that tells me they have a staffing problem and I have to ask why. Nice try, though.

Geez Nick, give the girl a break! They ARE a great company... - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
ever heard of gaining new accounts and needing more MTs? How about some people just don't cut it and quit and they need more MTs? The staffing problems are probably just that...MTs who can't cut in the field and bit off more than they could chew. When I worked for TT there was always plenty of work, good communication and QA treated me with respect. And before you ask, I left not because I couldn't cut it but because my husband got a promotion and my working days are finally over!

Another way to look at that:) - TT MT Monique

Hi Nick:) You could also say that they hire all the time because they are growing and taking on new accounts.

Because they continually get new accounts, Nick - HappyTTer

[ In Reply To ..]
If you'll look at their most recent ad, it's specifically asking for multiple MTs for various accounts they're getting. They've gotten about 5-6 large new accounts just in the past couple of months.

TT is a great company...been there over 2 years and rarely run out of work except during the holidays, and my backup account usually has plenty of work. Everything else Monique said in her post was true as well.

Ciao!

TT is a great place to work - Happy TT MT

I love working there too....i do at times run out of work but again, if you want to work they shoot out emails frequently asking for help....they are very nice and always willing to help! That is what sets them apart from some of the other companies out there, they are more personable. I have only been there for a couple of months...but do have a question for some of you TT who work on editscript....my speedtyping will not work on that platform what program do i need to use, i am just using my autocorrect now but sure owuld like to pick up my productivity.

Obviously you have never been in management - Going on 4 years at TT

[ In Reply To ..]
A good manager NEVER turns down a qualified transcriptionist. Never. You find a place for them. I was a manager of a TT company for about 6 years. Now I am a happy TT'er (couldn't handle the stress). That's probably what poster meant by "always hiring."

Correction - Should have said mgr for an MT company - TTer for 4 years

If You Are Looking For A Great Company, I Would Like To Share Some Positives About Opti-Script. Sm
Mar 15, 2011

For the first time in a very long time, I am excited about a job.  The people are absolutely wonderful and it truly has the feeling of family.  The platform is great (ExText) and I love my account.  No one ever pays me what I think I'm worth, of course (smile), but the pay is decent for being an employee and the insurance is affordable.  People leave you alone to do your job, but they are always available if you need something.  I applied awhile back and the positio ...

What Is The Perfect Company? Now That WMX Is Gone, What Made Them So Great To Work For (before Rece
Jul 08, 2011

I am an MTSO and see the WMX/Nuance merger as an opportunity to improve employee relations.  Until the last few months, it seemed the Webmedx could do no wrong.  Employees were happy and seemed proud to work there.  Then it changed, obviously as they were gearing up for the sale.  So, as a growing MTSO, I want to ask you this:  What did they do that made people so happy?  What can other MTSOs do to become the "perfect" service to work for? I am not looking fo ...

Sep 25, 2013

Hi there.  I've seen a few posts from people who have worked for TransTech.  I would like to hear more about this company... including compensation range. Do you provide your own computer, or does the company provide a workstation? How do you like the transcription platform.   I have over 20 years of eperience in the MT field. Have worked directly for hospitals and for MTSOs.  May be considering changing jobs in the near future.  AM currently located in Kingman, Arizona. ...

TransTech- Good Company
Nov 19, 2013

I've been with TransTech for about 2 years, but I'm going to back to working with people now that I'm not having to deal with military moves anymore. I thought I'd pass along to the job hunters that TransTech is a good place- they pay on time, have a good work load consistently, and not too much ESL. It's not for you if you don't want to commit to 40 hours or work a few holidays, but it's an honest gig that you can make a living with. ...

Great Line Counts Require Great Dictators.
Feb 11, 2015

I'm always over 200 until I get Mr. Mumblemouth who knows he is not forming actual words when he hums through the PE, as my counts plummet to as loiw as 75 LPH.   Then I get a long report from an excellent fast-talking dictator and my LPH jumps to 340.   Question:  Why is it that the MTSO does not comprehend the fact that our production depends on the capability of the provider to dictate correctly?   The horrid dictators are never told they are doing anything wrong as ...

Oh Just Great! NOT No OT Pay For Me.
Mar 03, 2011

I was just informed that, even though I worked OT in my time zone (PST) and before my shift (second shift), their day is in CST, so anything after their midnight (CST) goes to the next day - that days and hours count in CST. Geez, maybe I should be working my shift in CST hours. That could be nice. I would get to start 2 hours earlier and stop at a more decent hour. This stinks like week-old fish, and I'm thinking the Calif EED might look at it a different way! ...

A Great Clarification Of Buy-Out
Feb 04, 2010

Please see the following article from - I think - Business Week, regarding the buy-out of Spheris.  I think it should make us all breathe a little easier.  It seems to clarify that there are 2 separate worlds, and that MQ intends to keep its U.S.-based transcription entirely separate from CBay's India-based transcription: Spheris, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a Delaware court on Wednesday, already has two buyers lined up for the privately owned company: MedQuist Inc. ...

Why Is It When You Are Having A Great Production Day,
Jun 07, 2010

the work seems to disappear? I was doing over 400 lph and now no work. This happens every time I have great lph. Can companies do a switch-a-rooney, keeping the work away from people or can the platform be 'fixed' that if you hit a certain lph, no work will download to you? I'm really curious about this. I've been watching this happen for a couple months now. ...

This Is Great......I Love It!!!!!!
Aug 16, 2010

So, I got this super long report with HORRIBLE audio.  When I got finished it looked like a piece of Swiss cheese it had so many blanks.  I didn't even CONSIDER sending it to QA as the audio was just terrible and there was NO way I was sending a report that long...and then get paid 3 cents a line because it might put me over 5% QA submission.  So, I just sent it straight through, expecting to get a call from my CCM on why I sent so many blanks, which, of course I was prepared ...

I Have A Great Idea
Aug 19, 2011

Why don't all of us who are tired of everything join forces and form our own company.  We live all over the country, know how to do the work, know how to QA, know different platforms.  Hundreds of us together could market our own vicinity and work together like a coop.  We would all make the big bucks.  It has to work, as we are the people who keep the large companies in business.  Coops work with any other business, why not with this.  What do you think ...

Wouldn't It Be Great
