Feedback on Softscript - Good or Bad? - looking

How is working for Softscript straight transcription? Are dictators difficult so it is hard to get good line count? Possibly going to interview for PT. Any feedback would be appreciated.

i have been doing this for 31 yrs and these are some of the easiest dictators i have ever seen!

One thing is that you will be likely be given tough dictators to start with as this is their way of weeding out MTs who bounce from place to place. If you can tolerate a month or so of low line counts/little money, eventually you'll do fine.

in my opinion the dictators are the easiest i have ever had in my 30+ years of MT

Newbies at SS are given tough dictators to assess their ability and yes to weed out those who go from one company to another. Much as I despite what MTSOs have become, it is their way of keeping their profits up by either not hiring MTs who are less skilled and therefore can't produce and cost the MTSO money and by not investing their time and money training people who aren't going to stay around--or that would be true if they actually trained their MTs, which they don't, and that's why people bail.

They have now left the company, but these two were a mother and daughter--mother was fairly high up in the company. They both said that the Q's of newbies were loaded with tough dictators to see if they could handle the frustration, and that if they didn't quit then in about 6 to 8 weeks after the date of hire their profiles would be changed. It may be different now, but I doubt it based on the historically rapid turnover at SS. Again, you will be fine if you can just stick it out at the beginning!!

There is no truth to this at all. Nobody is specifically routed work by dictator or difficulty. That is all lies.

so that's a moot point, its all unfamiliar when you first start. I worked at SS for several years and for some reason I started getting low work and couldn't make any money so I quit under bad circumstances. Maybe if I had talked to CR I could've gotten different accounts but the that's water under the bridge. Long story short, I'm miserable now and I wish I could get back on at SS but I can't. Lesson here - give it a shot and see if it's for you, communicate, and don't burn your bridges!

It is ridiculous to even suggest what is being said. If you believe this then fine but I know this is 100% definitely not true and whoever said that it is true is mistaken or lying.

It's clear from reading these posts that there are some people who are deliriously happy at Nuance, unless of course they are posting on its behalf to do damage control. So I was hired by SoftScript 2 wks ago and completed training which was not bad. Was put on 2 clinic accts and had work for 2 days and no work since! Emails from company saying volume is low, have patience, yada yada. THEN I see that they are posting ads on mtjobs.com for more MTs! Flip me out! I got feedback on a report today, CRITICAL FEEDBACK. The doctor dictating was absolutely horrible, worse than horrible. I could not understand him, tried my hardest and before I uploaded it sent a note to QA asking for a sample of his work, explained that I could NOT UNDERSTAND HIM. I'm so happy! I got my audit, passed with flying colors and got an email from sup saying good work and keep it up! He also suggested that I submit for a raise since I've been consistent. I said I didn't know that we could, but apparently we can if we maintain that 98% average consistently for a certain amount of time. I started with MModal a month or so ago and I am noticing that MME feedback is not consistent.
