I i normally always meet my LPH with no problem but this is the second week in a row that I cannot meet it. I am so low on work on the weekends but just don't have the available time or am so behind just can't seem to get it caught up. So miserable.

I just found out that I may not be getting all the e-mails sent by the TSM. My TSM was let go, then I got 2 temporary ones, waiting on a new TSM and now to find out I got one of the temps as a permanent but then that got changed, too. Other MLS are saying, didn't you get the SOS and I haven't gotten any correspondance. You would think with the TSM leaving without notice and her manager being MIA for months they would take roll call to make sure they are reaching every MLS. Same old story. How can you reach your line counts if you don't know there is work available?

Was going along this morning doing pretty well, actually I had 300+ lines per hour, THEN hit half a dozen short notes by this ESL on VR who slurs over everthing, especially lab values, who should NOT be on voice recognition and suddenly my line count was down to 169 lines per hour. So frustrated, want to curl up in a ball and cry. This happens all the time to me and last week I did not get enough lines. So unfair.

I hate those short less than a minute reports....sm - LoveMT

Even IF the dictator is an AWESOME SUPERB dictator, those short reports require more time to download, spellcheck, and upload than they do to actually edit! When you get a whole bunch of them in a row, it really kills the line count, and it's just doomsday if the dictator is horrible. It's a no-win situation with those little short notes. Give me a super long dictation any time (with the exception of the really bad dictators that is!)

I managed to make my LPH today due to having work all day. Of course it was all VR, but at least it was steady all day and I had no problem. I hate to start out the new pay week behind the 8 ball as you never know what the week will bring!!!

I do have some benefits with the VR job, but not good enough to even take them on right now. After 3 months I will start accruing PTO up to 12 days a year. Is it worth it? Does anyone else have problems sometimes making the minimum line count that their company requires? Some days I make it & some days I don't. The other day for example, I worked 2 hours (partied too hard for Christmas Day the day before) & I made 13 lines over the minimum requirement. I have been doing about half and half, VR and straight transcription for the past three months - is anybody making any money doing this? My line rate, of course, is half of my regular transcription rate (like that is fair, right?). I am using all the keyboard shortcuts that I can find and have created some macros, but the bottom line is still that some reports really are bad and even with picking up the speed to 40%, I am just not making any money! I just got an e-mail from my supervisor saying this today. I have been having a hard time making 192 lines per hour on SR reports. That is way over what I was hired to do at 127.5 lines per hour. Now they say SR reports are counted as 2/3 of a line, so we should really be doing 192 lines per hour if they are SR reports. In addition, one patient had the wrong birthdate on the patient panel. They have terminated some office/administrative people and now have eliminated weekend incentives and given pay CUTS to transcriptionists. Work is nearly non-existent.
