I can't seem to do it, crappy account with lots of ESL. Are other folks working off the clock or is it permissible to be on the system until you reach quota?

I had a TL who micromanaged and said we could not work off sch. shift hours. And then if you needed to make up time, you were criticized about it because it is not your shift. Glad I am gone. Beware if you work off the clock. If they micromanage like mine did, your busted.

OMG that is exactly what happened to me. I would be OOW and she told me to work when I could make it up. Then when she knew I was working "other than my scheduled hours because of OOW" then she b****** that I had to get off the system because it was not my scheduled hours. I am waaay so glad to not be working there anymore. I feel like a new woman!
Here I am teetering around the production quota and why?? Because I have to do so much work that is not paid for and is time consuming (entering the ADT info, cc information that is beyond what is in their database) and trying to deciper a lengthy and convoluted CP, plus trying to figure out which, if any, document standard has to be used and finding it in a long list of standards for Ctl S. I had requested that that document format associated standards be put at the top of the list which is e ...
It's an outrage to have your CPL cut in half with editing but for the company to expeCT scan the same quota (dollar wise per pay period) to maintain benefits is a kick in the teeth. I'm not a newbie to this "career". Now we have to have QUANTITY and QUALITY - no blanks. If you can afford to stay in your desk 10-12 hours a day and watch your life slip by this may be for you. How did we end up letting these companies rip us off l ...
Does our line count quota change if most of our reports are straight typing? For example, the other day, 50%, yes 50% was straight typing!! Does the line count quota change for this, or am I just supposed to type faster, or make it up on another day - hopefully. ...
I know none of us get paid by the hour, but I was just wondering if any of you have ever figured out just how much you earn per hour, based on a 40-hour week. I'm just trying to figure out where I fit in. I seem to be earning $16-18/hour give or take based on how my week goes. ...
Hi:I am make incentive based on minutes, but I work on a system that lets me check how many lines and minutes I have typed in a day also.
Just in case I have to get another job based on lines, I wanted to know what is the average amount of lines per hour or per 8 hour shift.
Thanks for the advice in advance.

I do have some benefits with the VR job, but not good enough to even take them on right now. After 3 months I will start accruing PTO up to 12 days a year. Is it worth it? I was thinking having benefits would be really nice for once in the last 16 years, but now I am thinking it may not be worth the struggle to make a living on VR. They said the platform for transcription is chartnet or chartscript? What do you all think? ...
I work in the medical transcription industry. My employer is in TN. We are required to work 40 hours per week, and we are paid on the basis of lines of dictation we transcribe per day. Many days there is not enough work during a shift (a shift given us by our employer) to complete our 8 hours of work. This means that in order to comply with company request, we have to work 2 to 3 hours at night to complete our 40 hours, even though we have sat at our desks and continually check ...
Does anyone else have problems sometimes making the minimum line count that their company requires? Some days I make it & some days I don't. The other day for example, I worked 2 hours (partied too hard for Christmas Day the day before) & I made 13 lines over the minimum requirement. The 2 days after that, I've made a total of 56 lines less than the minimum & I've worked more hours than I did the day I went over the minimum requirement. So when ...
I have been doing about half and half, VR and straight transcription for the past three months - is anybody making any money doing this? My line rate, of course, is half of my regular transcription rate (like that is fair, right?). I am using all the keyboard shortcuts that I can find and have created some macros, but the bottom line is still that some reports really are bad and even with picking up the speed to 40%, I am just not making any money! Just venting, I guess. I was doing 1200 l ...
I i normally always meet my LPH with no problem but this is the second week in a row that I cannot meet it. I am so low on work on the weekends but just don't have the available time or am so behind just can't seem to get it caught up. So miserable. ...
I work my hours--exceed my line counts, but I am still making Min Wage. I am so confused. What does it take to make more money? It seems like I keep making less each pay day. And can anyone explain the 2 check stubs? ...
Anyone not making line count for Accentus? I am making about half required and will have 2 weeks to make line count. Canadian accounts. What happens if I cannot make it, will they let me go?

After being switched every couple of months to new accounts I am now having trouble making any lines. Lately I have been wondering if they have changed how they count lines. Also I am on an account that is done in the UK which means 100 percent ESLs and zero normals. Anybody else struggle? ...
Is anybody else having a problem with slow appearing line counts? I'm really wondering what's going on today. There's been no CCM or QC emails either. Very curious!!! ...
I'm wondering if I fit in with the average...
I am a fairly fast typist, all straight typing, not many templates or "normals", but some, and I utilize a lot of shorthand... I average about 250-275 lines an hour, but when I get ESL doctors that drops me to around 200...
Does this sound about right?
Curious out how people do on their shifts, if someone is working 8 hours a day, which I do not because my wrists can't handle it, I'm trying to see how well I can work up to "full tim ...
I've been an MT for over 5 years and have always been paid by the line. I would think that most MTs preferred wage is to be paid a set amount per hour. If this were not an option, what has given you more of an income, paid by the line or by the AUDIO hour? What I'm currently being offered per audio hour comes out to less than what I was paid per line at my previous job, but the reports are easier to understand so it may be worth it. It is basically both ...
Just wondering, what is an Average line count per hour for an MT? I worked in a pathology office for almost 5 years, but we never kept count of lines per hour. When we pulled an audit once, we were only typing about 700-800 a day between myself and the lady I worked with. I had to pull all the slides for the doctor, help with grossing, assist in frozen sections, etc. I was hired for a job where they want me to type 135 lines per hour, that's ...
I have been struggling to reach my line counts at a certain company for a while now. I thought it was me. I've been working really hard to get faster and use more shortcuts, etc. I just looked at my stats and I did 38 minutes of dictation per hour but only ended up with 160 LPH? How is that even possible? I haven't had any dictations today with a lot of dead air or anything like that. I've done 200+ minutes of dictation today and have 1400 lines to show for it. I'm just wond ...
What are the average line counts on an 8-hour shift doing speech recognition? I use Dictaphone/Extext. I'm producing on average about 240/hr sometimes less. Any info appreciated. ...
Relatively new. Did not make the required line count one week. Is this a biggie or are you okay as long as you average out for payperiod? What might I expect? ...
