So, I started thinking about how they want to use the technology - against us (red box, etc.)

The people who programmed, designed, whatever, Editscript have added nice little features, like the red box, and the speeding up dictation feature when the dictator says nothing. So, I started thinking about the red box and other features. I decided I would not check the box that slows down the silent parts of the dictation. Well, guess what? It sped me up editing-wise like crazy and I can hear when the dictation blips and, if need be, I can rewind for a couple of seconds and check the box to make sure I didn't miss a word. Yep, I'm using the feature that the programmers built in to help us, speed us up.

I stopped listening to silent parts of dictation weeks ago. It has not affected my accuracy one bit. It is especially helpful of speakers you are familiar with, when they blow through ROS of PE and they say the same thing every time.

Without the red box not only did my line counts suffer, so has my QA. Big shocker there. But then again, it seems to me that the more you voice your opinion about something not being right, you are not only ignored, but you are also penalized. Its amazing to me how I can "miss" so much stuff. I had a comment that stated that i'm not editing the dictations at all, i'm just submitting it. Oh yes I have been doing this for years and I pull the dictation, do nothing to it and just submit it, whatever they say. The red box, you can rewind and you can clearly see what you missed or didn't miss and what was being said, after all i am on a H...account. Can't say that enough. I complained about it and I was nailed on QA. Every time I voice my opinion, my QA suffers and then i'm told i'm not doing my job. Just amazing how I could do my job just fine until I started working for this company, now I can't seem to do it right no matter what I do. I am so fed up that I am looking for a job that has no editing and just straight type. I can't take it anymore. It seems that they will do anything to slow you down so you can't make your lines or to give them yet another reason to penalize you for something, at least this has been my experience.

Were you able to see reports in FIESA to back up the QA score? I am just wondering because I was told that my weekly QA score was very low but there were no reports in FIESA to prove that. I'm just wondering if maybe something fishy is going on with the QA scores.

Pretty funny I have done my job for 30 years but with this company, I apparently suck at it. I think it is the QA/QC people's job to PULL out any report you do with an error and that becomes your score. That way, no bonuses but you sure think you might make it next time so you keep plugging away at it. I have been job hunting since I was hired here. Prefer to get out of this MT crap, but still have to make a decent living.

I have done my job for over 20 years and had many 100% scores. Apparently, I suck as well. By saying this, I am giving away who I am, but I no longer care. I was in the hospital (never been sick in my life) and they TOOK AWAY MY INCENTIVE BONUS FOR BEING SICK.

I am looking for a job and doubt i will even say kiss my a@$# when I leave.

Sick, have a baby, have no work, a bad storm knocked out power to our house for at least a week, they don't care...you are aced out b/c you should have found a way to get to work. Being sick in the hospital is no excuse in their eyes.

UGh. There were reports in Fiesa to "back them up", but I don't even pay any mind to Fiesa b/c half the stuff they say I have did wrong, I know that I did not. I know that they change things, they can say whatever they want, but I know they do it. MT for well over a decade and guess what, I suck at it now too. I have been looking for a job as well, but i'm trying to get away from all this VR editing b/c I hate it. I just want to straight type and actually make some money.

They will do anything at all possible to slow you down to keep you from making your counts so they have a reason to fire you (if they so chose if you complain about things like I do) or so you don't get your incentive or mess with your Q so you get the worst work out there possible. I know b/c I have been there. Every time I say something to a higher up about something not being right, my Q is full of horrible speakers, horrible work, horrible audio and my QA score drops...line counts drop b/c you take so long to do a 1 minute dictation. It is all a scam....hello they are partnering with India, which is the place for so many scams come from. Certainly they have learned how to scam us in any way possible in our jobs as well. That is just my thoughts though.

I hate to say I agree with you but it really seems true. I have done this for well over 10 years and have never EVER had a problem with my QA and now that I am here I can't do anything right. I know for a fact on some of these where they say I filled it in wrong I had left a blank and didn't put anything so it is so frustrating when you only want to do a good job for this company but their reputation now is just so so bad

Really, I don't know who answered that question for me, but I lost bonus for low line count. I hope it is not for the entire quarter.

Either way, it stinks because I am never out of work. Taking the incentive away for being sick is really just WRONG.

I thought the same myself. It seems my scores are from the reports I have marked to send in and when I get a dr so hard that I have to mark up every other line and send it in with the note its a hard dr I get marks all over and criticals on it. I thought QA was our backup, not our back breaker!

Watch out for...they will take your already QA'd report that you have pended and had your blanks on, and then put it through the Post-Audit (the same report!) and then ding you - in my opinion, if you have already pended it you are saying to them I need help and the report caused you some difficulty, yet they will then use that report again to lower your Post-Audit score.

I am in the same boat with QA/QC. However, I have left ugly notes in the comment section and my TL called me about it. She said it was bad for "morale." DONT MAKE ME LAUGH. The low pay, new ways to take away bonus, way of making MTs feel like crap is what is bad for morale. If they don't want me to comment, why a comment section.

I wish they would fire me too. Normally, I am an okay person, but I have been ugly and not answered emails and ignored "mandatory" requests for help on the weekends and NOTHING HAS HAPPENED.

I think the TLs have no power and I'm so sorry for them, cause I would make mine fire me if she did.

I have just been offered a job and accepted with TTS. I have been able to avoid VR for quite sometime, but will now be doing this. I have heard good and bad so not sure what to expect. Just curious to know pros and cons with TTS?Also curious what to expect with doing VR? 75% of my work will be VR, but mostly clinic account and only 15% of ESL's. Hi folks - Well, astonishingly enough, I just got hired as a brand new MT at a private facility, with a pretty good salary & full benefits. I was just certified last year, and all I had was a strong letter of recommendation from the Director of Medical Assisting at the JC I attended, my externship experience (online with ZyloMed) and the 4.0 GPA on my transcript.
