A community of 30,000 US Transcriptionist serving Medical Transcription Industry
Hi folks - Well, astonishingly enough, I just got hired as a brand new MT at a private facility, with a pretty good salary & full benefits. I was just certified last year, and all I had was a strong letter of recommendation from the Director of Medical Assisting at the JC I attended, my externship experience (online with ZyloMed) and the 4.0 GPA on my transcript. No paid work experience. You could've knocked me over with a feather! I really can't believe my luck, and still don't really understand it.
Anyway, one of the gals who works there recommended that I purchase "Techology for the Medical Transcriptionist," by Laura Bryan. I was wondering if anyone here has read it and thinks it's worth the money. I don't want to buy one just to find out it's about learning to use WORD. LOL.
Any insights are appreciated. Thanks.
