So as they were all taking names and everyone talking over each other, whose QA do you suppose will be extra stringent this week? Hmmmm?????
This was SUCH a load of crap! I'm very glad folks spoke up, though. They had to know it wouldn't be easy, but really, what was even the POINT of it?
And shift differential being taken away, but still available on the weekends? If the REASON was Time Stamp issues on the system, you couldn't do it for the weekends, either.
I don't think even THEY believe all the B.S.

In other words, we all took a pay cut to 8 cents a line, 7 cents if you need to send more than 10% of jobs to QC, lost shift differential, and the only way you can make more than 8 cents is to be perfect, no mistakes, and be able to product an exceptional line count. I think I got this right. This all under the name of "Patient Safety." BS

I guess I'll have to go to this afternoon's call and try to get my questions answered there. But I know there are no answers, it's just amusing listening to them slip and slide their way through. There was really some hostility on their side though I hadn't heard before, resentment. Just the comment, what if it was your child? Did she really say that? They really do want us to quit. Pollyanna that I am, I didn't really believe that until now, but listening to that call, I'm sure.

Obviously it's easier to stick their heads back in the sand than to deal with a group of savvy, well-informed, assertive MTs! The 'passing-the-buck'(ask your TSM) replies to all of the pointed, well-founded questions was so maddening! And to say (not imply--say!) that we don't feel compassion toward "that child's family"--GRRRRRR. I respected her prior to that comment but NO LONGER.

Whoever asked that "what if it was your child" question was a dreadful person. What if it was HER child who was being treated the way we MTs are being treated/paid? WTH with ending the call early when there were still obviously people trying to ask questions? There was blatant hostility/animosity toward the MTs, absolutely NO question about that. Sad as this all is, it is rather amusing to hear them squirm when trying to answer questions that there are no answers for. You can only spin so much, and they are well aware we aren't drinking the KoolAid.

And the most ridiculous part if I'm blanking things for an MD who is making the mistakes, he/she doesn't get penalized for patient safety (even if it's my child), but I DO for him/her!
I was doing fine with Nuance and just felt that I was working the new pay grid quite well to my advantage. I can't believe "Brenda" said that "too many were stepping up to the plate" with our accuracy/speed and taking advantage of the higher pay scale. Whaa? They hoped that more MLS would make errors so MORE $ could be taken away from us, that's what - and when that didn't happen...they had to find another way to take $ away from us.
As previously stated, now they want to work just as hard with the same speed, the same accuracy, and the same amt of jobs going to QC in order to get less than the amount most of us were hired for.
I am ready to throw in that towel very soon...I've finally had it with this company.

The patronizing tone of the leader's comments throughout the call made me literally sick to my stomach because I couldn't believe what was being fed to us! I was/am so upset about all of this that I just couldn't keep my mouth shut on that 1st and only phone call.
Did you notice that when someone simply asked for clarification of the removal of the weekday differential that she didn't answer it directly? She just said, "There is STILL a weekend differential." She couldn't even just reiterate what we all already knew -- no more weekday shift differential.
I have a feeling this Ms. is the same person who put out that original statement back in December about the plan to take 12% out of each dollar as a "platform differential," but that we should all feel "pleased" that Nuance would not be requesting money back for paying us previously more than this new platform adjustment.
In the end, when they did away with that 12% fiasco, I wondered whether this was because some Nuance legal experts advised them that there could be legal ramifications. I firmly believe that they simply found another way to do the same thing by take the $ out of our pockets by reducing our line rates.

That idea had to be REALLY bad because don't you remember that little "extra" check we got in January? The one for some "adjustment?" I forget when, but iwas opposite of a payroll week. They must have TRIED something we didn't catch onto, but someone probably did.

And they have no recourse to go after us for being "overcompensated" during the previous time, working the other grid. I already consulted a labor attorney on that. They're just trying to leverage fear if they can get it. Trying to get people to hush and go along thinking the company has something over on us. Jerks.

I cannot stand how in both instances they come off as doing us some huge favor, or giving us something above and beyond and thinking we don't see through it. Are you kidding me Nuance? Gee, thanks for allowing my lowly MT self the opportunity to keep what I earned! Or focusing solely on the weekend differential when they are taking away shift differentials. Or that Brenda person insisting there are people on the high end of the production grid when in fact the team metrics indicate the majority do not. They grossly underestimate our intelligence. I think the whole bunch of them who've been "drinking the Kool-Aid" are wishing it was wine! But they're too stupid to recognize their "suits" are covered with the tire tracks of being thrown under the bus, too. Good luck getting weekends covered with summer and parties and holidays and vacations coming up. If they want "extra coverage," they should pay for "extra coverage," not OT, but extra $$$$ for making a commmitment to an extra shift, fulfilling that shift and hitting your QA markers.

There was a lengthy discussion about doctor errors. If we blank them, we are going over 10% and it costs us money. If we don't catch them, we get critical errors and it costs us money. In referencing the critical errors, the moderator said what if it was your child and someone made a critical error on that child's report, yada, yada, yada, compassion for the family, etc. It just rubbed everybody the wrong way. IMO it was out of line. We all care about patient safety and would never intentionally make a critical error.

They said that they "promised" to audit 1% of our jobs. I responded by say that that amounted to 1 job out of 100 -- and if in that 1 job, there happened to be a "major error" (I may have said critical error), that 1 error in 1 job out of the several hundred I do per week would reduce my salary by several hundred dollars.
Brenda responded by saying, "Well, what if that was YOUR child?" -- meaning what if that was my child's health record that the error occurred in?
I responded by saying that if a city name is spelled incorrectly, my child's health would not be in jeopardy and didn't see how this should result in several hundred dollars deducted from my paycheck. This would be the result of my accuracy score potentially falling from 99.9% to perhaps 99.1% in a given week due to this 1 major error.
A lot of people (including myself) felt this was a smug, patronizing response from Brenda.
My take is that if a doctor makes an error in the dictation, how is it that his/her salary isn't negatively impacted, even though it affects patient safety?!?!?

I was hired in at a certain CPL. Is it legal for them to change this. I am so disgusted and upset. Used to make 8.5, and shift differential after 8 p.m. Now 8 CPL and no differential.

I was forced to move from ebeyondtext to bayscribe. I love it because I HATE editing. but what I don't get is how can it possibly be legal to hit bayscribe alone with this huge pay cut and not the other platforms?? I mean, if all my scores (QC, QA, Webclock/server ratio) are stellar, on ebeyondtext, I would only have to EDIT 200 LPH to get 10.5 cpl, but on Bayscribe I have to WRITE 300 LPH to get the same cpl?? that can't be legal, can it??

I'm on 3 eBTXT accounts and we probably use the same pay grid it sounds like you are talking about. We've had it since about New Years. But we earn both weekday PM/night and weekend shift differentials currently. But now I have to wonder if this is going to change?
