conference call with MM coming up... - s/m

I am not accepting the job, but I just wanted a few good "insider" insights/questions to throw back at them. It is a mandatory call I have to participate in. I already have all the crappy reviews from Glassdoor and an article stating MM was voted the worst company in US to work for. I've been reading MTStars for months so I already know a lot about MM. TIA!

with someone who is not your employer? If that is true, I would so not be available for that mandatory call. They can't control you if you don't let them.
Maybe it is something different, but I call that crazy behavior.

when the industry standard is 98% and it is obvious that our out of country counterparts are nowhere near that percentage. And why ASR pays less when their pre-edited reports are filled with errors, take more time to fix, and have only gotten worse since it was started years ago. And see if you can find out how many were fired for under 99.7% and how many told them to stuff it and quit? not that they care but would be interesting...thanks

the line rate of straight typing yet takes about the same amount of time. That's why we're all broke now.
And why we're required to research and manually type many CCs but not paid for them, when we're supposed to be paid for everything we type, and we can be fired for not entering them correctly... but not paid and entering them for free on our own time?! I still don't understand how that's legal.

I no longer work for MM but these are some of the issues that were not shared when we were bought, but are important to know.
Mandatory OT.
Offshore employees inconsistently QA'ing US MTs' work.
Cutting pay by 3 cpl if you send too many questions to QA, or if left on 100% QA for more than a week when training on new accounts/platform. They also count this percentage off of total lines sent, NOT reports. So if you send a long document, even with one blank, it will hurt your average.
Too many primary accounts. IIRC, I was taken off the accounts I was familiar with within 2 months of being bought by M*Modal. When I left I had been assigned over 25 different facilities as primaries, all over the country, with pages of specs.
And of course, the ridiculous 99.7% accuracy requirement, especially with what they consider an 'error'. You are not only responsible for your human errors/typos, but EVERY error VR makes that you don't catch, EVERY error the physician makes while dictating, EVERY error they make inputting patient info or worktypes, and EVERY error made by the software in demographics. It all counts against the MT.
Penalizing MTs for sending blanks/questions to QA, and - sm

then firing them or cutting their pay for mistakes is completely counterproductive. If you care about quality, let the QAs verify blanks/questions without penalizing anyone! Common sense.... if you actually care about quality....

A town meeting run by the MTs with the higher ups required to attend...where they have to answer questions we select. Their meetings will never address the MTs real concerns.

And even sadder, that we cannot band together and FORCE an eye opening. What would happen if for say one day, or maybe 2, or a week..if we all just got the flu? And Im talking QA people also..Bet your bottom dollar, they would realize they need us because India, first, couldn't handle the work flow, and even if they could, without our QA help it the end product would be a REAL EYE opener to them..I would do it in a second, someone just say the word...The problem is no one on here does anything but complain. That is what this company banks on. Actions speak louder than words. They CANNOT fire all of us..

As long as they keep us paycheck to paycheck, they know that the majority will never stand up and challenge them..Reminds me of slavery, I am almost out of here, I cannot wait for my true attitude to be able to shine on through. It probably will not do any of you any good, but I am going to try my best. At the very least, until the day they fire me, I will cause hate and discontent.

The conference call is next week. For the poster who just couldn't understand why I would be on a mandatory conference call with MM it is b/c I work for a hospital who went with MM. MM has made a complete butt of themselves trying to get us to come over and work for them. They even said we didn't have to test, just pass a background check. No thanks. My supervisor wanted to have an MT on the conference call currently employed with MM. The HR person said.....um, well, we will try. We may not be able to find someone "live" to speak with but maybe we can have an MT write an e-mail about how much they like MM......ha ha ha ha! What a joke MM is. I'm sittin' on ready for that call. It won't make a bit of difference to MM, but it will sure make my day by telling them off. If anyone is unaware of the article on Google about MM I believe it is by Crankilicious and you can find it by Googling The worst companies to work for by Crankilicious. I am going to read that entire article to the MM HR person and dare her/him to interrupt me or dispute what I am saying. Sorry if some of this doesn't make sense. It's late. I'm tired. I will definitely let you all know about the call afterwards.

The article says MModal requires 99.5% accuracy. It is now 99.6%, soon to be 99.7%. So you may want to through in that fact on your call. I wish I could listen in!!

if this is the article we were discussing a couple months ago it says there is no time off. This is not true. Don't say that on the call or they will jump all over you saying yes there is time off, and then you'll lose your credibility. We really do at least get that.
I don't believe they can't find an MT to speak with you, but if they did it would probably be the last MT of the Year and well, she wouldn't give you a very fair representation.

I already jotted down the new standard percentage. I thought the article was spot on from everything I have been reading here for the last 6 months; as well as the horrible reviews from employees/former employees on Glassdoor.

We were working at home and were called in to be told we were being laid off.
A week or two later, we were called in again to hear what MM had to say, which was nothing. They flew in two MM reps and had another on a conference call who just Luved-Luved-Luved their transcriptionists, but not a single one of them would answer simple questions: What is the average hourly pay?
They had all the stats and they wouldn't answer a simple Q. Not a one. All BS.
I'm still baffled why the hospital wasted everyone's time with that stupid meeting. I guess the hospital had been sold on MM and the hospital figured the MT would be sold on it also. Just a BS snowjob.
Don't bother with the conference call. It will waste your perfectly good time. Get unemployment and get another job. With MM, you will be a field slave.

When our hospital decided to go with MM. Our MT dept was just me and another lady; she chose not to go with MM and I don't even know what she's up to now. I took the offer to work for MM for the health insurance. But, yeah, the mandatory conference call...I had one with MM's HR (my hospital boss wasn't even on it) and then another call later with a "recruiter." I didn't have to test with them. I was made a Tier 3 HDS due to my CHDS and doing op notes. The funny thing is, I only type op notes now if a doc enters a job wrong. And, the HR person did say "my hospital account would be what I'd be typing to start out with and then they'd add another." My first day with MM, I think I typed 2 jobs from my old employer. when I finally was able to contact my actual manager (the day before I started), she said my hospital was part of the primary group I was in. In other words, the primary group had my hospital plus like another 16 facilities included in it. HA. MM lies their ass off constantly. Don't believe anything they tell you.

QA Conference Call Jul 10, 2012So if you disagree with a QA score done within the last week of the quarter, you are out of luck. So even if they are wrong you lose your QA bonus for 3 months.
QA is horrific at this company and the quarterly thing is unfair.
