"They" were actually referring to a different incident, a few days before this one, where I had signed off after being bounced around for 1-1/2 hours and could not make heads nor tails of the ESL dictators. I had sent in an explanatory note that time too.
Anyway --- there was a viable two-way conversation. They didn't make a big deal out of the form -- told me to just sign it and forget about it --and it eventually will fade into remote history.
For me, it's fine because I've already got two calls in to "Ticket to Work" and I'm going to go ahead and explore my options anyway.
My CCM has been working on adding a new ER account which will become my primary.
I have a bottom line. I need to be able to make $10/hr doing this work. It's less than I used to make, but I'll take it. When it gets below that --- my "boat starts rocking," and I'm gonna find out what else is out there for me NOW, rather than waiting.
My experience is -- with all the new tools and searches, etc., etc., etc., and constant bouncing from one hospital to another, client profile to another, dictator to another, specialty to another ---- there are a number of nights when I literally wound up making
Five dollars an hour
I will not do MT/ME work for $5 an hour --- period, THE END.
The work is way too difficult. Ten dollars an hour is TOO LITTLE --- BUT ---- I like working at home and not having to spend money on dressing for an office and getting to one. I like being with my darling adorable pets, my cats, who I love beyond words --- my little "purring family." They are such a comfort.
There are good things and bad things, but there is a bottom line. And I know what my bottom line IS. That's the first step. You have to set a bottom line and it has to be a firm one.
I expressed PLENTY of my "insights" about the work, the compensation, and the "bouncing around between hosptials, specialties and dictators" during the conversation. I do understand that these people have a different job than I do: their job is to provide me with work, during my shift. If it's WORK, it's WORK. But they say they are trying to fix it, and they do listen, and they do seem to understand.
It was a USEFUL conference call. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
I PRAYED BEFORE IT.
