...to announce she (KK) has been promoted to a team scheduling type of position at MM starting early next month and another HDSM by the initials of KM will be taking over for KK.

According to KK, KM is really nice and there are other MTs who are excited that she is taking over for KK.  Whatever.  I've only been with MM for 8 months so it's not going to rattle my world all that much.  KK was nice and I will miss her, so only time will tell if KM is as nice as KK says she is.

How many high-paid schedulers do we need? What a waste of money. - sm

Although, in the past when they've created odd new positions, they then eliminated the new positions and laid them all off, so who knows what's going on.

If everyone already has schedules, what does the scheduler do for 40 hours a week?

Makes sure people are actually "working" their schedules - because most people dont

Working of schedules is no longer going to be an option - it's going to be required. According to my old TSM, from now on, anyone not working their schedule will be placed in performance/scheduling management.
I was under the impression that was ALWAYS the rule. That's why - it is scheduled. nm

It's far too simple for people to work whenever it's convenient, day, night, weekends, or no weekends, whenever they feel like it. You just simply log on and work, there is no safeguard in place for those who are working their schedules and it's probably a VERY big reason why so many people run out of work.

The scheduling manager position is designed to "schedule manage" those who seem to have a problem working and staying on their schedule ... if you are working outside of your hours they will be calling to find out why - and if you are scheduled to work, and you're not on board working, they will be calling for that reason too.

I guess they haven't been able to figure out a way to lock people out of the system when it's not their time to work so they have to pay someone to pick up the phone and tell people to get off the system if they're not scheduled to work. Classic.

Probably calls people when their bathroom break exceeds 5 minutes - just saying

I mean, they're paying us ALL. THIS. MONEY and everything ... they have to protect their enormous investment in us and make sure they're getting every penny of their minimum wage's worth. ;)

For the lousy work we get, the over-hiring, the off-shoring, and the meager pay, they sure are up on convenient ways to micromanage every move we make. I say, if the minimum line count is 1200 lines a day with 10000% accuracy, and an HDS manages to accomplish that in less than 8 hours a day, they should refrain from using a fancy tech whip. I do about 1400-1700 lines a day in 8 hours. I probably could do more, but I clock in on time, and clock out at just near 8 hours. These reports are not always easy, and we do much that we do not get paid for, which is not taken into account. If there are 5 minutes here and there when I am not pounding the keys, so be it. Will it really come to that?

I don't bother the TSM unless I need something drastic. I go to work, do my job, and fly under the radar. I don't work overtime and I keep my schedule, nothing more, nothing less.

I have had 3 in the last 5 months. I cant keep up with the changes.

I don't mean to be selfish, but what I really care about is me and my co-workers, that we don't get the short end of the stick in all of this. We all try to do excellent work!!!

So, we're scheduled for an upcoming conference call and have to be clocked off but will get paid forour time.  So .  . . do we get paid that ridiculously low PTO time that obviously is getting lowered for practically all of us every 6 months?  Does anyone find it strange that 99% of us have had our PTO pay cut soooo much over the years?  Might be a good time to bring it up, during the conference calls, so that we can all chime in about it at the same time.   ...

So if you disagree with a QA score done within the last week of the quarter, you are out of luck.  So even if they are wrong you lose your QA bonus for 3 months.  QA is horrific at this company and the quarterly thing is unfair.  Supposedly  they are "talking" about changing it back to monthly, maybe we should all give a little push for that !!! ...
