conference call/pay? - totally disgusted

So, we're scheduled for an upcoming conference call and have to be clocked off but will get paid forour time. So . . . do we get paid that ridiculously low PTO time that obviously is getting lowered for practically all of us every 6 months? Does anyone find it strange that 99% of us have had our PTO pay cut soooo much over the years? Might be a good time to bring it up, during the conference calls, so that we can all chime in about it at the same time.

I either use speakerphone (and mute of course) or headphones and clean the house or do laundry. You could always look for a new job or work on your resume while you are listening. Yes you will get paid your new PTO rate which stinks but if you multitask it might make you feel better to get paid cleaning your bathroom or filling out applications on Mmodal's dime.

Thanks for giving me a laugh for the day. Poetic justice would be cleaning out your toilet while on a conference call with company. I am picturing myself with my maid hat on and rubber gloves scrubbing the heck out of it while listening to same ole kayrap!

My evil thoughts exactly. It's just too bad it couldn't be done without the mute on! Left Q M*Model (whatever)months ago, but come on here to reaffirm it was indeed the best decision I ever made, and keep hoping it will get better for everyone! And, this made me chuckle!

I minimize the conference page (who needs to see - all their stupid graphs & pie charts?) and -

then surf the Web, shop on Amazon or eBay, visit MTStars, or Facebook, or send emails to people.

We usually get a written recap sent to us anyway, so who needs to listen to the live presentation.. especially when it's mostly an hour's worth of corporate mumbo-jumbo, with little to no mention of MT concerns, or even MTs at all. BAH!!

So if you disagree with a QA score done within the last week of the quarter, you are out of luck. So even if they are wrong you lose your QA bonus for 3 months. QA is horrific at this company and the quarterly thing is unfair. Supposedly they are "talking" about changing it back to monthly, maybe we should all give a little push for that !!! ...

Maybe if MModal hired fewer employees from Microsoft they could afford to pay transcriptionist better and allow for cost of living raises. I have been a transcriptionist for going on 30 years and this company is one of the reasons we can't make a living wage. ...to announce she (KK) has been promoted to a team scheduling type of position at MM starting early next month and another HDSM by the initials of KM will be taking over for KK. According to KK, KM is really nice and there are other MTs who are excited that she is taking over for KK. Whatever.
