Uh Oh! Our team's conference call last week was to say we lost a huge account, and oh, by the way, everyone has to totally stick to their schedules, and everyone must work weekends. Well, I was already on weekends so no big deal there. But still! Hoping it is not bad news for you but just an update!

That way, people who are not working their schedules are not taking work from my shift.

even tho I've worked 10plus years for that schedule, always got in my 40 hours and lines, and almost always had enough work.... Obviously you are a Nashville suit, right? Everything is coming up roses.

If I work my 8 hours, and someone else decides not to work their shift and they decide to make up their time during my shift - that's not right.
We have schedules for a reason.

Right now with OT it doesn't matter so much, but with low work if people don't stick to schedules it means more NSA, and I am not a suit either!!

Maybe they got tired of lying about it because we all know darn well a select few have M-F shifts and the rest of us get to have crappy weekends forever! I asked my AM how long a person has to work at Wmx and how many team positions must turnover before a M-F gig comes open? Got told "nobody" gets to work M-F and "everybody" has to do a weekend day. Yes, its ridiculous because there's rarely enough work on a weekend to justify this. But perhaps this is an attempt to make things "fair" for all of us - requests to rotate weekends fall on deaf ears - it is easier for Mgt to take away this plum from the spoiled few that have it (except THEMSELVES of course). Sorry for your bad luck but I doubt you were ever sorry for the rest of us that never got to have a normal weekend like the rest of the world - so welcome to the real Webmedx - the one people like YOU used to defend because YOU had it good. Maybe the rest of us weren't just a bunch of whiners and complainers - maybe we were telling truths that YOU were immune to and finally have to take part in.

I work Monday through Friday, started out Sunday through Thursday. I was CHANGED to this schedule by new AM because my account is constantly out of TAT Fridays. No work on the weekend.

it'd take before you might see M-F, and that was a very bad, stupid, and ultimately insulting way to deal with it. I also work one weekend day but always knew there had to be people who work only weekdays. Truth to tell, though, I've been working for decades now and never had even a fraction of your resentment and unhappiness working for any company. My freedom to walk is cherished, and I've even done that when it suited me. Didn't need any excuse, either. It's my right. And yours. Just another MT here, too, BTW.

How wonderful that you can feel this superior to someone after reading ONE of their posts! I've been working for decades now and never even had a fraction of your complacency or smugness. My freedom is cherished also, and I don't need an excuse to condescend to my fellow MTs, either, because it doesn't bring me pleasure. It brings such VALUE to this board to have such well-thought out solutions such as yours presented to us in this way, and surely something THIS original would NEVER occur to anyone without help from YOU. PS - I am quite sure that when anybody who posts here has to ANNOUNCE they are an MT, they most certainly aren't.

I think some who were working M-Fr were with companies bought out by Web who were promised their same shifts. Also, some had rotating weekends, I really wish management would consider this! I would be even glad to work 10 hours on both Sat/Sun if I could get the next weekend off! Maybe a bunch of us could suggest this!

They just lost a large one last year. Good luck with that one, sincerely. You're going to have a tough summer with low work guaranteed like the last time they lost a large account and had to lay off MTs. I was one who never had enough work and had to quit and find work elsewhere. Yes, you'll be cross trained, but there won't be enough to go around.

it's a sign they're trying to be more communicative. It's understandable they can't have various employee interpretations of company details aired on the web 5 minutes after we get them, but only finding out about significant changes after they hit does us a tremendous disservice and makes it very difficult to see ourselves as part of a team.

I too am sick of hearing everybody accuse anybody who has an opinion different that theirs or who defend the company, that they are a "suit".....good grief people, move along and let those of us who want to work instead of argue do just that.
I also had that STM who sent out personal info and didnt know answers and feel horrible for the new guy...I don't think he knew what he was getting into...and yes it really does suck that we work weekends, and yes it really does suck that they will probably hire more people and we will run out of work just like we do every single year, BUT FOR ME I am sticking it out until the end and am sick and tired of people who like to put ridiculous thoughts in other peoples head about things they know nothing about.

QA Conference Call Jul 10, 2012So if you disagree with a QA score done within the last week of the quarter, you are out of luck. So even if they are wrong you lose your QA bonus for 3 months.
QA is horrific at this company and the quarterly thing is unfair.
