Just "hired?" by Nuance...sooo.... - JTBB

Ok...so, I applied, tested, etc for Nuance and they made me an offer. However, since that time I've waited 2 weeks for training to begin only to be delayed by the system going down yesterday. Now it looks as if training will be rescheduled for July? Really?...Recruiter said she would check with her boss because "this just isn't fair" and "I'll call you right back." That was 2-1/2 hours ago. No call back. So...I've started receiving email updates concerning work flow. The facility I'm slated for had all of 81 reports available (and that's after the system was down for a whole day). Nothing impressive there. Then I come to this website and notice that Nuance has a category of its own...lol...I haven't been here in a while. I used to work for Medquist (M-Modal), Inscribe, etc and have run out of work at each and every one of them. Is Nuance just another case of overhiring so MTs can hurry up and wait to make nothing? And if so...are there any companies out there that actually have steady work?

as part of the buyout of Transcend. I came into Transcend as part of the MDI-MD buyout. Contrary to what you see here, I found the management at Transcend to be well-organized, and very responsive for such a big MTSO. I believe it is very likely that Nuance will soon follow the pattern of Transcend as far as managing their MT department. If I had strictly listened to all the negativity on these boards, I would have jumped ship before giving Transcend a chance. I do believe it is a two-way street, and will be giving Nuance a fair shake -- if you be a good employee, I still believe they will treat you well. If that changes, I'll be gone, but so far, so good.
It's usually the other way around. They will adopt Nuance's business practicies - and management style.
