Hello,
I am new to the forum and recently hired as an at-home MT. It has been a year since I completed college MT courses at a tech center. The employer, saw my resume online.
I have a p/t job that I've had for 2 years in addition to the MT job. Both jobs, are flex in hours, although the MT employer would like full-time. It pays 8 cents for every 60 characters. I would really love to drop the p/t job because it miserable in many ways. Can someone break the pay down in other terms? Will I be typing all day for $5? I had a few externships with a few specialties, so would at least this would be a start.
I was leary if the company was legit, with so many scams out there. Initially, I was contacted by email. I recently went to the main office for software training and given a laptop pc (with the downloaded software) to use, headphones, keyboard, and mouse.
Well, it is quite late tonight. I was painting a floor. The MT work, doesn't begin until early September. I still would like a router to run 2 pcs and the employer is looking for foot pedals.
This is also contracted work. I like the fact, that the work will be for a local hospital. The initial speciality will be radiology. After the new employees produce good work--the employer will get more specialities added. So, this is crucial to do well.
I would welcome comments or suggestions. Thanks.
