Hi Everyone - I was just hired by Transcend.  They sounded great when I talked to them, but I've worked for enough companies to know they arent always what they say they are.  Does anyone out there have anything to say about them - the good, bad and the ugly???  TX.

Not sure which to offer. Guess I'll go with congrats first for getting through the hoops. Condolences to follow when you can't make the $950 to keep your bennies. Hopefully you don't need those.

I make just under 8 cents per typed line, so not sure about them paying higher wages then others, must just be special old me, lol

as miserable as they can. They is all taking lessens to be the meanest witches on earth and their ain't one of dem that would tell the truth. They is all rich trash. Dat's y it takes 2 years to train new ROM. And u has to 'member that dey consider 30 minutes of training expensive to pay, so once u use up that 30 minutes u is out on a limb for the rest of your career. Maybe that is why dey schedule the courses at the most inconvenient times - or maybe it is cuz they don't want you to find out how inadequate their trainers are. Just wait until they unroll their new worse than ever program to replace the never working Beyondbelief that is used now. U will have to buy all new software, just like we had to buy Microsoft Word 2003 when they updated their latest program. What slime! Also forget ever getting answers out of humanless resources. Or answers to problems with payroll. Yup, transcend is certainly an amazement

I don't mean to be rude here, but this note strikes me as being a joke. No transcriptionist I ever knew used words like ain't, dem, dat's y, u is, cuz, they is all, and this may be what you intended because it is a note of sarcasm. I totally agree, by the way, with what you are saying though.

I heard good things about Transcend. I got hired on by a nice lady who said I tested well. The first day I worked, I was told my work was top notch. You see, I had 23 years experience.

My second day on the job I was assigned a new supervisor (trainer). She called me at the end of my shift and said, "You aren't very good, are you." I replied, "Excuse me?" She said, "Your work really sucks."

So...I quit on the spot. I received several calls saying this woman was wrong to have said that and that my work was excellent.

I quit anyway. That is no way to offer criticism.

Oh will you people give it a rest with anyone who likes a company is management. I left Transcend in March-I was sick of waiting for work but I do know plenty of people who are happy there-mostly they are people who do not have to depend on their income and so a couple hundred bucks every two weeks is okay with them. It just makes you sound ridiculous when you say everyone who is happy is a suit.

Transcend. My experience with them is that they hire you full time. Then with the combination of overhire and lack of work, you are working part time. Then you can work at what you consider an excellent company.

Good luck. I was fired because they did not like how I worded one of my emails. Said it was inappropriate but I have asked at least 20-25 different people, some in management of other companies who said there was nothing wrong that they could find with the email. Again, I say good luck.

I was fired on 06/02, and I still have not received my final paperwork stating why I was actually fired. They railroaded me big time, and they will make up any excuse to get rid of you if they want to.

By the way, did they say what was wrong with your e-mail message? I have never heard of firing someone for that reason, unless it blatantly displayed insubordination to a superior, or you used bad language, but I doubt you did that. They also knew that in the state of Florida, where I live, you do not draw unemployment if you were fired, so they screwed me over big time.

If anyone should be fired for emails it should have been that supervisor who sent the rant/rave out shortly after she was appointed. Bet she is still there going strong, just not sending emails. They protect their own in management.

I was fired from team leader and my email read: Thank you for allowing me to be your teamleader for these past few months. I have enjoyed it immensely. I am sorry if I have failed you in someway or did not live up to your expectations. - I sent it out with the last status report that I sent out before my shift ended. I got a 5 day suspension and then was terminated completely.

The DOL in most states say they will not pay for unemployment if fired, but it DEPENDS on the reason for termination on behalf of the employer. I was fired from Transcend as well and am receiving unemployment benefits.

I got a call from someone on the state review board, who wanted to know more about the circumstances surrounding my termination. I then tried to call 3 times after that, and they said if they did not hear from me by Tuesday of this week, by 5 p.m., they would go ahead with their determination. Well, I guess I will know soon what that is, because they did not call me back, and I left upteen messages. Wish me luck, and thanks for your comments, it helps!!

First, congrats on getting a job. Hopefully you will land on the good side of Transcend - there are people who like it there and have no problems. If you have 14 to 16 hours a day to do enough lines to keep your benefits you will be fine. If, on the other hand, you have a life and can commit to no more than 8 hours a day for them, you are in trouble if you expect to make enough money to live on. Full-time for Transcend is much more than 8 to 10 hours a day.

Technology can be a double-edged sword. If they (MTSOs in general) want to keep track of how long I spend in the bathroom, it will be interesting to see what happens when we all have to start working the legal 8-hour day, unable to stretch into 14 hour days because, hey, the system is recording that I'm on there and typing when there's work. Of course, I can still work a 14-hour day, but it's going to cost them overtime now. And, alas, if I don't make my line count in my 8 hours that their tracking software shows I was there available for work, they may just end up paying a lot of people unemployment when they're essentially laid off for no work available.
