Why are some CCM's telling those laid off that it's ALL part timers? - part-timer

I am part time 24 hours and not a peep out of my CCM/TSM/whatever she is yet. I would think I would be first in line because she is always giving me a hard time about my hours and my pause time, etc. Is it still coming? If not, why are they lying?

I think top tier is going first. If it was really that they were eliminating part time positions, then they should have offered us the option of going full time. They didn't, because the "existing book" they're sending our work to is in India, or where ever.

really knows what is going on as far as lay offs or anything else. All we have is the MT Stars rumor mill. My work still seems business as usual, although I have long been prepared to get laid off or fired and actually been looking forward to it, but it hasn't happened yet, and finally they even quit harassing me about schedules and failing audits. I am still getting daily emails with corporate happy talk, Shaw's idiotic tips, MT of the year, etc. I think if MM was really having massive lay-offs, it would be reported in some journal or something somewhere.

especially part time people, it appears, likely due to dwindling work for whatever reason. I don't know if "massive lay-offs" is the right description because I have not seen any links to sources that keep track of this stuff. I just wish there was some place to find real information on this besides this message board because honestly I don't know what to believe.

statistics - let go

I was part-time flex and was told they are looking strongly at statistics and many of the full-time people were short on their hours due to no work so to alleviate that they were getting rid of part-time people. I was told she was not sure of who or how the determinations were made. I survived the last layoff and I asked was it true back when people were inlaid off and I was told there is a place for part-time positions. Well I was not that lucky this time. I can also assure you I only worked weekend's and never even posted on this board so the theory that this board caused me to lose my job is the farthest from the truth. I did nothing to cause me to suddenly lose my job. Their statistics whatever they may be lost me my job. I never thought this would happen to me either. This is the first weekend I have had to myself in 7 years and although I am enjoying the time I still feel like I did something to no longer have my job but I didn't and was told they would take me back if statistics changed but they also told me that would most likely not happen. Sorry for the long post. Oh I never took the 401 either.

I am starting to wonder if Transcend has more part time workers than full time, excluding the TLs. It just seems like it is such a fight to get enough work to be full time. It also seems like it saves them in the long run to not provide insurance and now gift cards at Christmas if they have more part timers, just my feeling. ...

Please don't listen to those telling you that MT is in demand. Those are either schools. or recruiters who work for MTSOs. I suppose we could twist this to mean that MTs are still needed, but what they don't tell you is that the pay is horrendous these days.
