midnight tonight? If we've had to have mandatory OT for 2 weeks, what is going to all of a sudden change?

I haven't heard anything for 3 days now. I have no idea how my POD is backlog wise. I only know that I've been doing other accounts, lots of them.

Last I heard, it ends at midnight tonight, for no particular - reason. NM

just as much work in 6 hours as 8, and adding that extra hour... well, I'm still only capable of doing X amount of work, so it's pointless. My hands, brain, arms, elbows, and butt can only handle a certain amount no matter how long I have to stretch it out. The old MTSOs used to understand that fact because they had been MTs. These people really have no idea what we do. I'd like to see them sit for 9 solid hours every day for 2 weeks, typing and clicking furiously on all new accounts while trying to not make a single typo, doing the same thing over and over for HOURS. They couldn't do it. Data entry workers for the postal service here are required to stand up, stretch, walk around, whatever for 15 minutes every single hour because even they get it.... We are not machines.

Same here - when I did word processing for US Department of Energy - they told us to take 10 minutes out of every hour to get up and move or at least do something else. Gosh - I don't know -- maybe they thought we were human beings or something.

You should be thankful to those of us who are doing it since there was supposedly such a backlog. Just think they could have sent the extra work to India. I know some people say go ahead and send it to India, but I would rather keep my job and do the mandatory OT when needed.

If people would band together, we could stop the crappy treatment this company dishes out. But Nooo you have to bow down to their wishes. Obviously, you are new to this field, because in the day, this was a great job. A job to be proud of, a job you could survive on. Not anymore. Keep taking their abuse, once they get you in that mindset steadily, they will come up with more. I don't think they can cut wages any lower. Now it is mandatory OT, which is nothing more than a forced schedule change. Have at it, you can have ALL of mine. I'm done. I hope the fire me over it..

feel like it. i often stare into space for minutes at a time as well. i get up and do the dishes. sometimes i get up and throw things, or go sit on the back porch with a beer. often i contemplate different ways of killing myself. just now i was googling what happens if i just stop paying my mortgage since i won't be able to pay this months until next month and i don't know when i'll be able to pay next months. electricity and phone and credit cards? hahahaha....i'll be using one credit card that i have left that has a balance on it to pay some bills. these are the breaks from work i take. oh, and sitting here sobbing at times, yup, that too. that was my most recent break until my mom asked me to put some paper in her printer for her. i have to visit my brother in law in the nursing home tomorrow and might just drive and drive and drive and not come back. that would be the best break yet.

Which is the reason I won't. They pay U/E, I'm getting it, one way or the other. My friends hubby runs a security company, caught a guy on tape stealing, fired him, and he is collecting. So, if he can get it, by God so can I.

I hope you can find some help and can keep your home.

I would suggest you look into HARP or the Home Affordable Unemployment Program. The unemployment program would allow up to one year of no house payments. At least this would give you a little time to find something else and get back on your feet.

You should also look into some counselling or if you have a church you go to maybe they could help. You really need someone to vent to.

not the person you were responding to, but just wanted to say it. That was good advice. I am a Husky mom, too. Rescued a 3/mo old puppy from a major highway, underneath the guardrail, shaking, starving. She is 3 years old now and a happy, goofy, loving dog!

My two huskies were rescues too. They have since crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I have another rescue dog and her name is Adele. Adele was rescued in Detroit, so Adele is one sweet girl who has had a rough life.

Saying that the company was training 25 new people each month , now I don't know if that is 25 for the whole company or our team, but said that is why there won't be anymore OT after the 2 week mandatory. Blah blah blah. Who cares.... I did a total of 6 hours of OT for the last 2 weeks and that's only because of having long jobs at the end of a few of my shifts.. I'm having a hard enough time getting my shifts in...biding my time here as well til I can retire or they fire me.. I'm not quitting no matter how much crap they throw my way. I'm fed up..

with OT a couple of days ago. for which i was very grateful. except for all the weird accounts i've been getting on top of the fact that i was started on a whole new 'primary' with a new PC a week or so ago. (whatever primary is, i have no idea anymore).

And I don't want to be paranoid or conspiracy theory thinking, but my TSM (or whatever they are called) has not been as communicative as usual, still sends out daily work backlogs, but just two a day when there were more before, and not much else other than "make sure to work the one hour mandatory OT" and "have a good day" (or evening, or weekend whatever). And she and person who does the time cards usually micro manage us to remind us to approve it by end of shift on last day of pay period we work, but nothing said about that either. I guess time will tell if anything is going on here.

I know this b/c I specifically could not find a doctors name in the database for one particular job and I blanked it, wrote it down so I would remember the job number and what I blanked and when my corrections came through today, that name was filled in as if I put it there, there was no blank no more with a correction that I put in the incorrect name.
